Vitra purchased the Eames workshop, lock, stock & barrel. The park on which much of Vitra's subsequent success is arrayed is a marvel. Take bus 55!

A gem of a visit. We spent the whole day in the campus - and took in an informative English speaking tour. The buildings designed by world renowned architects are a feast for the eyes. We walked back to Foundation Beyeler through vineyards and villages...More

This museum can be for everyone. The main house is like a glorified IKEA, yes. Take that for what it is. But for more design & architecture enthusiasts, the other houses are the draw. The SANAA warehouse, the Frank Gehry, Tadao Ando and the Zaha...More

We took a train journey from Basel to the Vitra Design museum in Weil Am Rhein in Germany. Our Art Basel card gave us free admission but being in Germany, not free bus transport (although that was only 3 euro). I had no idea there...More

We went to Vitra after a couple of recommendations and we were not disappointed. If you can, take the architectural highlights tour - its rare to have so many world-renowned architects in such close proximity to each other and it is a real treat.
