The bright pastel orange castle in a very tourist friendly town. Lots of students too especially on Thursdays! Schwetzingen is also famous for white asparagus...! The castle charges a EUR 6 entry fee but totally worth it. The grounds are huge with a lake (with boats in summer), orangerie, gardens and loads of flowers. There is a restaurant on site.... More

One of the best I have seen in Europe though we were there after the closing hours the lighted view from outside spoke a lot about the grandeur of the place

Half price after 5:30pm but we wish we had come earlier. Huge grounds modeled after Versailles but with no crowds. Many different architectural features with fountains, follie

Schloss Schwetzingen is a wonderful visual experience. We only toured the gardens but that is sufficient for one day. We must have walked 6 km here in less than 2 hours. It is totally flat so easy walking. The gardens are beautiful and currently in bloom. There are amazing mathematical shapes that the hedges have been pruned into. I can... More

Thoroughly recommend these beautiful gardens - spent two hours walking through different areas on a beautiful spring day. Lots of interesting follies to discover including a pretend mosque. A great place to unwind.

Beautifully kept gardens. The walk around them can take as much time as you like. There are plenty of places to ponder. If photography is your passion make sure you have your camera with you. The opportunity for artistic shots is endless. If it rains, make sure you have your umbrella; there is nowhere to shelter. Best to remember that... More

We didn't have time to visit the inside of the castle, but the stroll in the parks and the Mosque was worth the visit already.

Visited with a group of 2 dozen people, on lovely late afternoon. This place is very large, so if you have a guide (we did) it will take considerable time to see 'all' without considerable time and effort. Our groups guide was a little chatty so we missed a few corners due to closing time...be aware that this will take... More

I visited on a warm sunny day, the castle is very impressive, as are the grounds, it is a great place for a piknik, and the river is close by. There is also a charming central park near by with willow trees, and some quirky pubs. The Town itself is close to other charming Towns, Koblenz for e.g. where ther... More
