In addition to the wonderful courtyard setting of the restaurant and its great Bavarian fair, a must is also taking one of the small boat taxi's down river / Danube, and back. Also, after your meal, take a short hike up the hill in back...More

Wanted to visit by boat but the water was too low so we drove, paid for parking, and walked about 1 km. It was a waste of time. The church interior was superb but not the rest. And the Restaurant there was a gotcha ripoff....More

The interior of the Baroque Cathedral is worth a visit by itself. The Abbey & oldest Monastery Brewery are very interesting also.

Fast service and prices are good in the Biergarten which I enjoyed sitting. Planning to visit in winter too. Suitable for families...More

Founded in the 7th century this Benedictine Abbey is worth a short visit. The Abbey is said to have the oldest monastic brewery in the world. Try the dark beer available at your visit.

Beautiful monastery on the Donau bend. Food delicious with a great supply of various beer. Our second visit, this time reached by bus from Kelheim as river too low for the big tour boats. Worth the trip for a summer afternoon under the chestnut trees.

The boats are not small, most of their boats take 500-600 people. They appear to have a 150 person boat too, but I've never seen that. Also travelling on the river it is normally a relatively smooth ride.
