Definately worth a visit. Great views from lookout for a few Euros. Also a great treetops adventure for any thrillseekers in the family with food and drink aplenty.

This is what we called him when I was stationed here at Hobart Barracks. The Romans were finally defeated here in the forest. Amazing views

Anyone interested in the history of Germany or Ancient Romans should go here. Its also nice for a family outing. Huge car park, toilets, cafes and a few small shops. Children's play area and a rope adventure course for teenagers and adults. Lovely scenery too. It's cheap to park (ticket at barrier, pay at machine before leaving). Its free to... More

the statute of Herman was erected around 1870 in remembrance of the Varus battle in 9 AD. But the actual please was not the teutoburgerwald, but way up north. romantic spot, beautiful sight. but over the top

The statue of Herman is gigantic. The funny thing is that you do not see it when you enter and then suddenly there is the statue of perhaps more than 150 feet; impressive. There is also a kind of outdoor playground (kletterpark). Unfortunately the restaurants are all tourist trapps.

Nothing to dislike. A remarkable statue in great countryside. There was a small shop & a couple of eating establishments on site.

If you are going to Detmold, you must visit Hermannsdenkmal, it's a beautiful and historical place. The view from there is amazing! Take a time to walk around in the Teutoburger Forest, is great!

A good place to stop while hiking through the Teutoburger Wald. Great views from the location, whether you pay to go up into the monument or just take in the area from the foot of the construction.

Huge monument at top of hill within forest. 3 euros charge to climb to the top but well worth it for the views Pay on exit car park and few shops and rwestaurants available.
