At about the half way point on the drive around the island, the cheese shop is original, historic and culturally unique as these cheeses were the first made in North America and continue to be different from what we get at cheese shops at home.

We stopped here on two different day trip loops around the island. On the first stop we tried the grilled cheese, which was very good. We had a slight language issue and did not actually receive what we thought we had ordered, but we still...More

My friends, wife and I visited this place this morning to buy some squeeky cheese. It was fresh and really good! Staff was very friendly and explained to us the process of making cheese. I believe this is off season because there was not much...More

Yes, this offers the oldest cheese produced in North America. And yes, the particular varietal they offer here is tasty, especially grilled But it's a one-trick pony; none of the other cheeses offered for retail are from there (most are Charlevoix), and it's a huge...More

Make a stop here to taste the first cheese produced in North America. Very quaint and clean. Wish they could have given tours of the processing plant but the folks were friendly and there is a good selection of items to purchase. Worth a stop

This shop is quaint and inviting. The cheeses smelled delicious. It was crowded with locals so that verified the quality of the cheese. Ask one of the staff to help you select the cheeses you are looking for. The only wish we had is that...More

Really looked forward to stopping here, although disappointed as we were told there were no more cheese tasting platters left and they were unable to make up anymore becuase ‘preparation is complex’ which seemed strange to us. Although nice location and variety of cheeses for...More

Try the iced cheese because it is tasty and yummy! We had never had that before and it is similar to icecream/sherbert. The fried cheese was also a pleasant surprise. We bought some table cheese and crackers which we enjoyed later on that afternoon. Staff...More

We were told this was a place not to be missed. The fresh cheese was delicious and enjoyed a local cheese plate for lunch with fresh berries and crackers, so yummy!!

Great place to try cheese local to Ile d'Orleans and the Quebec region. The shop makes two types of cheese that were prevalent during the frontier period of Nouvelle France. One of those, the roasted / grilled cheese, which is similar to Haloumi, was fantastic...More

Cheese lovers heaven, so much variety in such a cute shop, they make many of the cheeses themselves too, I really recommend the La Faisselle such a creamy texture, and honestly good on its own but we got melba toast because we were on the...More
