Tunganeshwar is well connected from the highway No 8. There is a Fantastic hotel food avilable ( Uttar bharat Dhaba) at the start so food need not be carried. The trek up to the temple is passing through jungle s & is safe. There are small streams u will encounter on the trek up. One advice if you are a serious about enjoying nature move ahead of the temple. The journey will take you to an exotic waterfall.
Be very cautious at the waterfall slope near the temple as the depth of the fall is 18 feet deep where the water is gushing down.

Refreshing jungle, has a lot of oxygen to offer, among other things.
Can hardly be called a trek, its a jungle rocky trail, all uphill on one side.
Temple is simple, well maintained, and very calming.
Surroundings have a few refreshment stalls, which serve hot, fresh and lip smacking local snacks.
Treks within the jungle and to the waterfall are closed now,to public.
A lazy Sunday trip.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is easily accessible from the Western Express Highway by auto or by self drive options (the access road is fairly good). the highlight of visiting this temple are the series of cascading waterfalls in the vicinity. Very calm and peaceful with hardly any people to bother you.

We had a good time near the waterfall. We could not reach the fall as it was too crowded as it had rained that day after a dry spell of few weeks. We did not cross the river and were standing on side of the river and enjoying the view and rain. Had vada pav and cutting in the rain.
Nice outing for a day.

One can visit this place anytime of year. But if you love greenary then you must visit during monsoon season. You will love the nature. There is wildlife also so good place for Nature Photography too. There is Shiva temple inside the forest and people visit there mostly during Sravan month.

We used to travel often to this place for several reasons:-
1) Less crowded
2) Natural trek
3) cool environment
This is near to Mumbai Ahmedabad highway and near to Vasai phata, a straight road goes to this hill. There is lovely temple of Mahadev and lots of waterfalls to be enjoyed during rainy season. You need to pack your food though, you will get food only near the temple..during the trek you will hardly find any sellers..A must watch place during rainy season, highly recommended.

Tungareshwar is located at Vasai. One has to hire some vehicle or take a bus to reach this destination. There is approx 1-2hrs of trek to reach the temple. The forest is wide, dense & safe. The best time to visit is during Monsoons. But one has to be careful as the steps are sometimes slippery. There is also a waterfall on top. One can buy tea, coffee & other food items in between.

Tungareshwar trek @vasai is awesome to hang out with friends..
To reach there- get down at vasai station. From their share auto or tum tum will take you to base .per head around 60rs. Entry fees for clg students_18rs n others around 40bugs.
From there 4km walkable distance for tungareshwar temple and of course cannot miss the waterfall..

If you planning for long walk /trek to shri balyogi ashram from vasai, extremely high endurance reqd. Do carry ample water. Road to ashram is in good condition. So not exactly trekking. Just a long long walk .From tungareshwar temple it's total 21km distance (4km from base to temple, from their ascending & descending by walk- 8-9km to reach top n 7km down. Yes we actually had 7hrs walk.. The way goes through jungle. Yes hardly ppl. U'll see on d way walking . As auto or bike r preferred by ppl to reach top.

But one cannot miss mesmerizing view from top especially during rainy time. Beware of cattles(cows) on top. If you have Food item. They may try to attack on you or it..

Ashram at 2025 feet is very quiet n peaceful. Few people were there around 12-15having bhajans & Puja wen we went. Temple and surrounding is pleasant. Murti of vitthal & rukmini is very nice. Yes do not miss ayurvedic green Chai. It makes u frgt all ur tiredness & boosts ur energy level. Yes washroom are available. N luckily we had darshan of maharaj also.

After a few time spending. We started descending. ROUTE descending is different. Not from one where u have started. It's 7km down towards virar. It's a highway where u reach down. From there auto or bus (show hand & stop bus) 😊
N u can reach virar or vasai station as per your convenience.
Rest pic says it all..

This temple located in Vasai East(Near Sativalli). It is located at a walkable distance from the sativali bus stop.It merely takes 25 minutes to reach the temple after entering the main gate of the tungareshwar temple.
The temple is much crowded on Mahashivratri festival. The tungareshar waterfalls are very famous all over Mumbai and lot of people pay a visit to this particular place every year in monsoon season. If you want to visit this temple the best time to visit it is Rainy Season, this is because the atmosphere is very cool and it is greenery everywhere.
