Went there to seek god but came out experiencing hell. Picture this, there is an open public urinal outside the temple main entrance. Many men are peeing in the urinal. There is an old lady selling tender coconut water out side the urinals. A house fly from the public urinal is flying and sitting on the open tender coconut. Close by businesses cook breakfast like idli, vada and dosa in open. If you are smart you will put this together and realize these people are anything but godly. A religion that fails to teach the followers the importance of cleanliness is a not worth it. Thats all I have to say.

This trip was planned because it was long pending. We had last visited Mantralaya in 2000 after our marriage. The trip was excellent but the temple authorities failed to let us know in advance the timing of the pooja whereby we reached late and the pooja was almost over. This could have been avoided by the temple authorities. The lunch at the temple was sumptuous and delicious. We loved it. It was simple though very tasty. The trip was a memorable one as we hired an auto to take us to the nearby temples for one full day from morning to evening as we had our train scheduled late in the night for Bengaluru. All through the trip, we could see cotton fields and collected some cotton for our memory. The climate was essentially dry but pleasant. We had a darshan of Mahalakshmi temple which was a very old temple and the history was explained by the pujari of the temple. We were quite impressed by it. The trip ended with some window shopping and some shopping of essential items.

It's the faith on Guru Raghavendra Swamy I'm visiting this temple almost every year since 2006.

Surroundings of temple premises, river ghat is very poorly maintained. Bus stand is not bus stand, buses go through and stop in severage. There is no sense of cleanliness anywhere outside core temple.

Getting rooms if you know insiders is damn easy, else just leave it to your luck.

There are multiple other temples with more number of devotees like tirupathi, udupi through out the year, yet they manage surroundings very clean and tidy.

Can't the seer or admin of SRSS take up cleaning at river ghat? Cannot they not influence city administration to lay tar roads and maintain hygiene in adjacent roads? Can't they not influence APSRTC to maintain the bus stand ?

Very high profile devotees are there for this mutt. Mutt receives huge amount of donations every single day (especially after 2008 floods). I have very strong feeling that mutt adminstration is deeply involved in misuse of public money.

This very well kept temple town is a festival for devotees of Sri Moola Rama and followers of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. We stayed in one of the Chatra's run by the Mutt. It was A.C. Suite. The mattress plastic cover is not removed since inception. The sheets are coloured ones and looks like re-used again and again without wash. Mosquitoes will take you to another World. The upkeep is sheer disgrace to the sanctity of the temple. The Mutt authorities have outsourced the house-keeping to an extrenal agency who in turn bring disrepute to this pious institution by demanding money in the guise of TIPS for no services rendered. It would be good if the Mutt authorities wake up soon to set right this anomaly and stop this scam.

Temple is surrounding cleanliness is poorly maintained. Road to connect temples are not good. Still caste system is exist. They arrange separate food and place for Brahmin and other castes. Temple authorities should invest little bit of amount to Temple development, other than there own development. Christianity is spreading like wind around the matralaya. The superior authorities of Temple should do something about this convertion.

The temple has been very neatly maintained. Was a beautiful experience. Only tough part was the trip as if you are coming from Bengaluru, the roads are small from Anantpur and also not a single decent restaurant after Anantapur till mantralaya (around 200km stretch)

The road condition -NH Till gooty is excellent You need about 5 hours to reach Mantralayam.from Bangalore. Started early in the morning from Bangalore @6am on 3rd nov-2021 .
Bangalore to Gooty road is excellant (6 way) as it is on Bangalore Hyderabad road. Gooty is about 240 Km from Bangalore. There is left diversion on the Hyderabad Highway for Gooty. You can easily notice the same.

Once if you reach Gooty you can proceed to Adoni via state High way road condition is not good stretches are muddy and horrible. You search for Gooty to Adoni in the google map which will give take you through the correct route.

Gooty to Adoni is around 74 KM. You need not go to Adoni Town. There is a by pass available which will take you to Mantralaya via yemmiganur.Reached mantralayam @11 am with 15 mins breakfast break make sure you carry your own food there are no good restaurants.

Pilgrimage which gets you the blessings of Rayaru. Had relaxed Darshan and watched nice rathosav in the evening. Went to panchamukhi and bkshalaya. Can cover all places in half a day. Dining options minimal. Annadhana bhojana Hall serves 15k minimum a day free meals. Infrastructure facilities improved a lot. Matt lodges are functional and decent. We stayed in sudhamentra mandhiram. Rs1400 per night easy to book on srsmatha.org site. Very close to the math and recommended. Plan visit between Monday to Thursday to avoid crowds. Also, check festival days. Many sevas can also be booked online. Let Rayaru bless all.
