It's laugh-a-minute time when not-so-tiny-Tim's your driver for a tour of the Cotswolds - or, indeed, just about anywhere in this sceptred isle. Tim's sheep farming background and intimate knowledge of the area makes for a cracking cocktail of tales. Some of them might even be true. Excellent value for money.

My family spent three days in Cotswold in July visiting Chipping Camden, Broadway Tower, Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Snowshill, Stanton, Stanway, Lower Slaughter, Bourton on the Water, Cheltenham, Burford, Bibury and The Arlington Row.
The most outstanding are
1. the stone cottages in the region - signatures of Cotswold,
2.Snowshill Lavender farm - just stunning and could have drunken you if you had stayed too long in the distillery, smell of lavender even in open fields is so strong but mind-soothing
3. Dusk skylight in Stow on the Wold with the skyline dyed from purple to red, and
4. needless to say the post-card setting of the Arlington Row makes the whole trip unforgettable.

We enjoyed a lovely day with Tim from Tour the Cotswolds. We had booked a tour of Hyclere Castle (the site where Downton Abbey was filmed) but got much more than that! Tim was very knowledgeable and on our was took us through quaint villages, along one track roads you would never find yourself and showed us interesting buildings along the way (churches etc) which he could tell us about in great detail. We also stopped at several Downton Abbey locations including the village of Swinbrook and the Swan the pub where Lady Sybil and Branson planned their elopement as well as the Downton village (Bampton). Hyclere Castle was well worth the visit. In addition to the castle itself, there is an interesting Egypt exhibit. The 5th Earl of Carnarvon (the family that owns Hyclere) financed expeditions to Egypt including the one which discovered King Tut's tomb. One little hint, on line they will tell you the tickets are sold out, but if you go in the afternoon and are a small party, you can get tickets at the gate. All in all a great day.

A day touring the Cotswolds is truly a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of crowded and noisy London. About 1 1/2 hours driving along small gorgeous country roads, you are like in another land. The cottages and homes range from magnificent to charming, but what they all seem to have in common are magnificent trees and gardens , overflowing with flowers, small streams and rivers, and , if you are lucky, even some swans.
Every so often, there is a street in a town with some shops and tea rooms, even those are overflowing with flowers.
The only problem is this area's popularity, with more tourists than I would have hoped .
But it was a lovely, peaceful way to spend an afternoon.

Decided to splurge for a tour of the Cotswolds with Tim Harrison. It was a most amazing day!
Tim is extremely knowledgeable about the area and has hundreds of stories to share. He is meticulous in planning an individual itinerary for every client and tries to shape the tour to best meet your needs. And he listens to you!
He plans the day so that at certain points he leaves you to wander an attraction at your own pace. That worked out very well.
A day with Tim is not inexpensive and some of the places he takes you have admission charges as well. But if you want to see a beautiful part of England, in comfort, with an expert, Tim's your man!

A wonderful historic area in England. So charming, worth a walk through town. The narrow streets lined with beautiful stone buildings, many with stone roofs, causing them to dip with the weight. The landscaping is just gorgeous, the homes wire hanging baskets overflowing with colorful flowers. A very moving and inspiring area.

My wife and I and sister recently returned from a trip to the Cotswolds. We fortunate enough to have used the services of Tim Harrison. He was just simply exceptional ! From the moment he picked us up at the train station, he made every conceivable effort to insure that we were comfortable, informed, enlightened and often amused. I'm not sure that you will ever find someone as knowledgeable as Tim when it comes to the Cotswolds. And it is obvious that he really enjoys sharing this knowledge. Many times this involved turning on to a small, country lane that we would have never considered. And the result was discovering scenes we will forever remember. If you are ever planning a tour of the Cotswolds, you simply must use Tim's services. You will not be disappointed.

Wow! Three full days of fabulous scenery, history and historic sites with the BEST guide in England. We had a comfortable (Lexus suv) ride with many stops to visit/tour seeing and doing as much as we liked. Tim is accommodating and knows all there is to know of the Cotswolds. We stopped at the best places for lunch as well. Tim has a lovely farm in Snowshill and grew up in the area. DON't MISS THIS TOUR by trying to see the Cotswolds in a bus, as it can't be done. This was the best trip of all the places we have visited in Europe and Britain.

We had a whirlwind day trip through the Cotswolds enruote to Oxford.
There are a whole string of villages with rivers running through the town. We went through Bibury, Buurton On The Water and Arlington Row. To say it is a pretty part of England would be to understate things.
The thatched roofs, the stone walls, all make one feel like you have been transported to Tolkien's Shire.
You could easily spend 3 to 4 days in this area in a self drive just enjoying the scenic surroundings.
I will be next time round.

Hi, I'm planning to rent a car from Heathrow, drive to Northampton early Sat. and head to Cotwolds from N'pton on Sun. morning, then return the car back to Heathrow early Sunday eve. I've never driven in the UK before, but I plan to hire an automatic. Traveling with my mom and my two children 8 and 9, Do you think this is a realistic plan? How's the drive from N'pton to Cotwolds? Any particular villages to stop at? Thanks in advance.

We will be in London in December of this year. How is the weather to tour the Cotswolds, and are tours available at that time? Specifically Dec. 11.

Hi, I am going to be in London and would like to tour the Cotswalds. Probably March 31. I will arrive in the morning and if someone can pick me up at the Heathrow airport and then drive me around for the day that would be great. However, I need to make flight arrangements and need an answer and some details ASAP. Hope it isn't a bother. Let me know prices and a general idea of cost. Thanks!
