Lovely little chapel on your way up to the top. If you come early you'll be able to avoid the crowds and have the entire chapel to yourself. Lovely and peaceful.

I am reviewing the church that is at the map location that Trip Advisor has for this sight. It was built in the 11th century and has the same name as the one at Mont St. Michel. It was interesting to see, although locked and inaccessible.

Mont St. Michel is an iconic and recognizable island cathedral off the coast of Normandy. Centuries old, it's a fascinating structure to visit, surrounded but the sea at high tide. There are many many steps to climb, to reach the chapel at the top. The construction, requiring hauling and lifting large stone blocks many hundreds of feet up the structure,... More

When you go there, you will get the Medieval feels. Inside you will see rose windows like other abbeys and other common stuff found in churches. There are some blank rooms and souvenir shops inside the building. Outside, there is a beautiful garden good for taking pictures. From the abbey, you will see the breathtaking view of the bay.

The church is small, but very nice and intimate, with a rough stone façade and small windows. It is dedicated to Saint Aubert, the bishop of Avranches, who was (according to the legend) instructed by the Archangel Michael in 708 to build a church here. The story said that he ignored the instruction until finally Michael burned a hole in... More

This ages old chapel is a bit out of the path of the usual flow of foot traffic on Mont St. Michel, so it's often overlooked. Those walking the sand flats at low tide most often come upon it. Rather plainly adorned but with murals from medieval times, it's a worthwhile sight if you have time & interest...

Gotta kick off the shoes and make the round during low tide. Definitely charming site and interesting story/history to go along with. Great pics to be had dying the evening golden hour. Not open while we were there, but so what.

The Chappelle was literally juts steps outside our hotel door - the Logis buildings of the Auberge Saint Pierre. A very quaint, quiet, and beautiful respite away from and virtually totally missed or ignored by the mass of daytime / day trip tourists that flood the island during the day light hours. Certainly worth a stop to look and breath... More
