... was our best tour on the Adriatic.
It was done with passion, expertise and wonderful syntax
in English by local master mason Mirko.

Fascinating if one has any interest in stone architecture
and art.

It's a small beautiful place to stay or visit. We were planning to stay in Mali Stone another small place one km of stone but prices for a hotel were unbelievably expensive so we tried Stone and were not disappointed. it's full of cafes and restaurants and people sitting outside enjoying life. it boosts your energy.
You must visit the wall, hard for non sportivs but worth trying.

My partner and I stayed in Pucišca and used it as a base for a week after a whirlwind tour of the mainland. We were looking for a peaceful stay, away from mass tourism, and were not disappointed. This is a beautiful little town with a natural harbour and a couple of beaches. There are several good restaurants to choose from.

Of course the local stone is lovely, and you can buy many items from vases to jewellery in the market place.

If you have time, visit this town, it is the most beautiful on the island.

There is a school on this island where they teach students to be stone makers of the highest level. In general the town is a lovely laid back place.

The pretty seaside town of Pucisca on the Croatian island of Brac has a high school which also teaches stonemason skills. The white stone on this island has been used since Roman times and was even used at the White House in America.
Every year two classes of 25 students are accepted to do either a three or four year stonemason course in addition to their normal secondary education. There is even a student hostel. We were able to look around the two workshops and were most impressed with the work of students.

Visited here when our small ship tour moored in Brac overnight.
I guess if this type of thing “floats your boat” you would find it interesting.
For me I really didn’t find it that interesting.

We had a talk through the stonemason school and it was surprisingly very interesting. It was quite traditional. We loved the quaint town.
