The locks are a must see!
Very nice to see these in operation when a boat passes.
Parking is nicely landscaped and payable (€7).
We went around 17h and then there was parking enough and doable of temperature and people.
We had a drink after viewing the locks on the terrace (restaurant le 9).
RESTAURANT LE 9: Here we have NO GOOD EXPERIENCE!
We both drank a kir cassis. This one was €5/glass. The waiter charged us €11 and he was still struggling to pay it back. Above all, he was very unfriendly!.
So be sure to check your bill!
With drinks from another table we saw that he picked up a fallen straw (on a dirty surface) and put it back in the child's glass. He looked again to see if people hadn't seen this!

Difficult to find with a car. Car park very expensive 7 Euros regardless of how long you stay. Found out too late if you pay to park there your ticket gives you an hours free parking in the centre of Beziers. Interesting to see the locks but unless you go on a boat trip not much else to do.

Nice locks to discover, well laid out site with tourist office on site. We did not see the price of parking displayed, and had to ask the Office as we walked past: 7 euros flat rate!!! (At the Office they offer you a free 1 hour ticket for a city center car park) really overkill knowing that if you only do the lock it's 1 hour max. So plan B: do the lock, the walk (plan at the Office) to the canal bridge, the old bridge, the cathedral (with elevator)....

The site is beautiful and friendly, a nice walk to take with shaded paths so practical!
What we found unfortunate is that there are no indications, no route or sign, we went around in circles a lot and waited a lot to see how the locks worked but we didn't see anything …
Parking costs €7 no matter how long you park there, fortunately you don't have to pay entry to the site at least. We noticed (afterwards) that you could park on the other side of the site towards the dancing fountains, the parking is free and we are still on the Écluses site, so more practical if you want to avoid paying 7€!

A technological challenge from Monsieur Riquet, for that time, on the Canal du Midi.
Interesting especially when the boats are there.
A walk to the Béziers Canal Bridge on foot or by bike,
depending on the time, take the side of the Canal in the shade.
It is regrettable that the cost of parking, well laid out, is so high: €7

Very impressive these locks, by boat or on foot, we realize the colossal work done to allow the passage of boats despite the importance of the difference in level. The passage is really very fast, we did not imagine it until we saw and lived it. Beautiful walk to do both on the water and on the towpath.

9 locks in a row, it's worth the trip but... 7€ parking, you have to stop making fun of people. At the "9something" restaurant, €4.20 for a Stella and €6.50 for a Leffe... Frankly, it's excessive! We came with our bikes and did part of the Canal du Midi in one direction or the other: apart from the boat house (where the young girl is super nice, by the way) and the place of the 9 locks. .. Nothing special.
Yes: great view of Saint-Nazaire Cathedral

WE spent a pleasant afternoon going through the 9 (now 7) locks at Fonseranes. The lock leading up to this series of locks was a water level difference of 21-23 feet. Amazing. Then the 7 locks followed one after another for the next hour. Truly wonderful to experience.

We enjoyed walking along the promenade by the locks and seeing the boats passing through. From the car park you can also walk into Beziers along the walkway. Car parking is expensive at €7 if you’re only there for a short visit - but if you go on your visit Beziers then might be OK.

There is a restaurant (a bit chaotic but nicely located) and a tourist office next to the canal).

Great discovery. Be careful, however, with parking (almost €10, regardless of the passage time….)
Well appointed and well thought out space…
We recommend (park upstream of the site (old town side..)
