Not sure as to what to expect on arrival - but this chateau/ castle was truly amazing. Walk the walls, visit the turrets, inspect the rooms. Just enjoy this beautiful building in an equally lovely town and learn something of its history

Fougeres was a really cool castle. It's big, and we spent a lot of time exploring. We went on our way to Mont Saint Michel. I'm glad we did. I highly recommend making this a pit stop.

Incredible situation and so much to explore! Looking forward to going back again. Nestled as it is at the foot of the town, it is almost apart from it. But the town is also well worth a visit. Be prepared for the climbs, both in...More

This castle/fortress is definately worth the time to see. You don't need all day, just a few hours would give you a really good look at it. Even if you don't take the tour, just walking around the walls is a spectacular experience. It easily...More

It seems to be the largest medieval castle of Europe, and maybe it is, but it definitely defines the town of Fougeres. It breathes history!
