It's a short uphill stretch, not too taxing even for me, to get to the citadel and it's worth it for (a) the beautiful views (b) the quaint streets and houses and (c) the icecream shop!

The climb to the Citadel is worth it for the views alone as well as the birthplace (alleged) of Christopher Columbus. Sadly the main attraction for me - the regimental museum of the 2nd battalion of the Foreign Legion - was closed!

Great walk and good guiding with audio device in four languages. Very nice place to take a swim from the rocks below facing the beautiful bay.

Had a wander around the cobbled streets and took in the wonderful views. Plenty of guide marks to help you take in all the sights

Enchanting landscape, Calvi is called Balagne, with varied contours, ranging from mountainous reliefs rich in picturesque villages to the languid beaches of the coast, a privileged destination for tourists.

We had fairly low expectations having read some of the other reviews on here, but we were really pleasantly surprised - it is like a little hamlet up there, with restaurants and a couple of little shops, and of course wonderful views over Calvi. Our...More
