Toucan Rescue Ranch (TRR) focuses on the care, rehabilitation and study of Costa Rican toucans and other wildlife. We receive and care for confiscated, sick and injured wildlife from government agencies. TRR gives animals a loving home with the goal of providing appropriate medical treatment, rehabilitation and then, when possible, returning wildlife back to its natural environment.

The Toucan Rescue Ranch is a licensed Costa Rican wildlife rescue facility and a 501(c)3 charitable organization in the United States (EIN: 80-0516453).

We went to toucan and stayed on the property for one night. Everything about the experience was amazing. The tour , our private cabin, breakfast the people that work and of course the animals. Leslie has done a great job to educate as well as let you see and view the animals. I highly recommend a visit and a stay..... More

As animal lovers we wanted to support a place like this. These people rescue and rehabilitate a wide variety of animals, not just the toucans that they started with. The tour is both informative and entertaining as you get to meet and learn about all of their "guests". It's heartwarming to see the care and help that these people bring... More

A visit to the Rescue Ranch is great but staying in their quest house is even better. It was wonderful to see the animals up close--especially the baby sloths--and learn about their care and the history of the Ranch. Staying there gave us an opportunity to wander around at will and talk with the staff about their experiences. I just... More

It's a rescue centre not far from San Jose. A mixture of native birds and mammals. I so wanted to see a sloth while in Costa Rica .Adults and babies are here. It's pretty small but educational. $35 US entry. Book on a tour before you arrive. There is a small cabin where you can stay overnight. Definitely worth going.... More

Toucan Rescue Ranch is only about 30 min drive from San Jose. We did a private tour and truly enjoyed it. The staff is great and all the animals are worth the attention and help you can give by visiting the site. Go go go.

We stayed one night in the Toucan rescue lodge and it was amazing to see so many animals - i think they had over 100! which is sad because they are rescues but amazing because they are being taken care of very well. all animals that are able will be released back into the wild. They were improving their animal... More

I can not say enough about our experience at the Toucan Rescue Ranch. We just spent 19 fantastic days all over Costa Rica but our best decision was to spend our first afternoon at the Toucan Rescue Ranch. We learned so much about so many animals and birds in such a short period of time. This place is doing amazing... More

Traveled to Costa Rica for Christmas Vacation for a week with my family. Throughout my time in Costa Rica we saw glimpses of animals but not as many as we wanted to see. Before my flight home we had one day in San Jose and debated on visiting Poas Volcano or the ranch. SO GLAD we decided to visit the... More

My family spent this past Christmas holiday (two weeks) in Costa Rica. We flew in on a Sunday night and made reservations for the Monday 8am Breakfast with babies, followed by the 9am tour of the property. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! Our guide Pedro was awesome, he was able to answer all our questions and my 5yo daughters questions too. We... More

Fabulous people doing work from the heart. So worth it. The biologist there and also one of the founders were so friendly, articulate, interesting, and educational. They are the real thing and do very important work. Please support them and go for a visit. I will never forget the baby sloths!
