What an amazing place. Lots of mosaics and villa architecture to see and take in. Well worth am hour of anyone's time to have a look round and take in the informative tour. Staff really friendly and a steal for 5€. Fully recommended, go there and marvel at our Roman friends.

We came here on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find it was free to look around. Interesting artefacts inside and the mosaics and other interesting things outside. You can get nice and close to most of the mosaics to have a good look and what has survived is beautifully vibrant with wonderful imagery and patterns. Also incredibly interesting details like how they managed to heat it from underneath. Signage in Italian and English and QR reader information available too. We enjoyed our quick trip here and would recommend a visit if you are interested in this type of thing.

Very little to see here. A few mosaics and fewer that are worth making a visit to. If you are in Desenzano, as we were, and you have excess time on your hands, ok, go. Otherwise, there are so many other places to see and time is so very limited on the typical trip that this cannot be a priority. I went because I read reviews that seemed to make it much better and because we were on an 83 day trip in Italy so we could indulge in lesser attractions. Now you know better.

Nice mosaic floors of a Roman villa and I'm sorry they didn't provide a scale model of the villa as it would have quite educational.

Spent an interesting hour visiting a very well presented attraction. Some of the info boards, particularly those indoors, were in English. The highlight is the number of beautiful mosaic floors that have remained. Visitors are allowed to get very close to the mosaics, so the detail is amazing.
Villa Romana is very close to the centre of Desenzano and only costs a few euros to get into.

An amazing site to see in the centre of the town, hidden away in the backstreets. Some wonderful tiled floors, and very well laid out, with coverings to protect the precious history. Contrary to previous reviews, there are several signs explaining the artefacts in a variety of languages.

Not an easy place to find on my bad iPhone map, but I’m glad I persisted. It was amazing to see ,it reminded me of a school tri to a Toman ruins but this was miles better - you got to walk down amongst the ruins, the rope barriers were set up almost on top of the walls rather than several feet back, you could walk on wooden bridges over the mosaics (likely what the archeologists used when excavating them!)
A treasure of Desenzano
