An interesting visit for young and old. Close to the town centre with wooden walkways right up close to the mosaics. An excellent distraction from the usual town attractions. Mainly covered to keep the weather out and fairly well explained in English. Well worth the...More

Literally walk 15 mins max from the port, spend a few euros to enjoy these mosaics - the completeness, quality and accessibility are hard to beat. Little wooden walkways allow you to get up close. There is still lots of this villa still to be...More

If you are staying in or near Desenzano, this Roman villa is definitely worth a visit. It is worth the 4 euro entrance fee just to see the lovely Roman mosaics.

Went here on the first Sunday of the month and was thrilled to find it was free. You first go into a museum and there all the labels are in English but once we got out into the villa, the signs were only in Italian...More

I wouldn't go out of my way to see this, but if you find yourself in Desenzano, it's worth an hour. The mosaics are quite well preserved and the interior display cases have some items of beauty. Footing could be difficult if you have mobility...More

Well worth a visit if you are in Desenzano, combined with the Museum of archaeology. Some descriptions are in English, though mostly German. & Italian of course.

Good way to spend half hour to an hour. The small gallery area has some exhibits and explains some other Roman sites in the area like the grotto in Sirmione. The mosaics outside are better than any other Roman site I'v seen and some are...More

Who knows what may lie under the ground waiting to be discovered. This Roman villa had mosaics to die for. So intricate and although not quite as bright as when they were first laid how fascinating to imagine the original heads of this household revelling...More
