It is a beautiful and welcoming square that takes its name from the church of the same name.
It is located in a bewitching and suggestive context.
Here there is the splendid Borgognone tower dating back to the 12th century.
Typical bars and restaurants make it even more special!

Viterbo is a fabulous town to explore, around every twist and turn of the narrow streets lies another discovery, I very much liked the small Piazza del Gesu, such a variety of historical buildings and styles of architecture. There's the Church of San Silvestro, the interesting Torre del Borgognone (tower), typical grey stone buildings of Viterbo facing onto the square, one with a profferli (outdoor staircase) which Viterbo is famous for and in the centre of the piazza a signature fountain. The piazza is located on Via San Lorenzo between Palazzo Dei Priori and the Palace of the Popes, seek it out, even on our wet day it was fun to discover.

We were returning from touring the cathedral and Palace of the Popes when we happened on this small attractive square. Like many in Italy it has the requisite parish church, a beautiful, functioning fountain, several small family owned ristorante, and centuries old residences. Good photo op.

Very pretty square in Viterbo where there are also places to eat. It best represents the medieval soul of the city.
