This town goes back to pre medieval times. Most of the exiting building are over 300 years old. Full of tiny restaurants at affordable prices. Mainly Italian tourists

We had a nice time in Tropea. The city is very charmous and has an active night life. A lot of restaurant options and of course amazing views. If you are driving, be prepared! It's not very easy to find parking spots available and you have to keep an eye for the areas of limited traffic.

Beautiful old town high above the sea with accessible stairways to a very long beach & harbor. Narrow winding streets with lots of restaurants & small shops. Streets remind me of Venice without the canals.

Tropea is very quiet in march. The people are very friendly and helpful. The town is on a high bluff over the beaches. Beautiful!!

We stopped on our drive to Sicily, great little town, I imagine it is very busy in the summer but we were there in October, perfect weather for touristing around, except for 1 huge rainstorm. Terrific little restaurants and bars. Beautiful monastery to visit.

Absolutely stunning place, crystal clear water and fun beaches. Many places to outside and recommendation is that stay with the simple local food and avoid any of the "white linen and a la carte overcomplicated" places that would be good in Paris or elsewhere. Simplicity is the key in here :) stayed in the town for 5days in sept 2016... More

We loved Tropea, from the pottery shops, to the churches and beaches. The beaches we crystal clear waters and beautiful cliffs to look at. The water was warm and waves were not too big.

It's not as busy as places like Positano or Rome (Both must sees also), but visiting Tropea adds something uniquely Italian to your trip. It isn't the tourist driven italian food that you are likely to see elsewhere, it is genuine. If you want to actually *feel* like you're living in Italy, Tropea is the place to visit.
