On my 4th visit to Spoleto, I finally made it to La Rocca. I must say that there is not much there and the expected views do not exist. Not impressed. The promenade around La Rocca is much more spectacular.

The Rocco is a must see Spoleto site. You get a great view from this historic building that served as a jail at one time. If you purchase a Spoleto Pass (10 Euros) you can visit 7 historic sites, plus you can use public transit for a week-- it is well worth it!

A must see. I have been in numerous Roccas in Italy and this is the best. Outstanding art works. It was a great rainy day visit.

The Rocca looks amazing from below and is equally impressive up close. The museum is has interesting information about the Longobards period ruling Spoke to and there are some lovely frescoes throughout. And of course the view of Spoleto and Umbria is stunning. You can get there easily using the brilliant escalator system if you don"t want to walk.

The fortress on top of the Spoleto hill is impressive in itself and has fabulous views over the valley. Don't miss the painted room with a very interesting story.

Get your exercise walking up to La Rocca.........or find the moving walkway. Walk and you won't miss out on all that is Spoleto.

This building used to be a fortress, then a prison, and now it houses a museum of the Lombard history in Spoleto. Some very interesting artifacts, well-explained, and no crowds. They could do a better job of maintaining their stock of explanatory texts in each room. I also wish they had some information or photos showing what it was like... More

A beautiful place with excelent service and helpful people. Not far from Spoletto, still in the middle of nature, in a no more lived but comfortizide village, equipped with everithing you need in your appartement and more. Comfortable, homelike rooms, piscine usable only in hot days - could be cared a little bit more.
