Beautiful and charming piazza. The sun was making the gold on the facade shine and it was a spectacle to see. quite beautiful in the evening lights, too.

The Filippo Lippi frescoes are wonderful. Another highlight is the mosaic portraying Christ giving a Benediction. Well worth a visit if in Spoleto!
Including a lovely little letter handwritten by St. Francis of Assisi to his brother, Leo. Very special cathedral in a very special location.
Amazing Duomo. Seems like Italians come from all over Italy to visit. Wonderful to photograph as the sun moves across the sky
There is an app (QR code on side outside the Duomo), it provides detailed information about the artwork and rooms inside. I did not have headphones with me, but enjoyed exploring the app that evening in my hotel.
This was our first time in Spoleto. We were only there a few hours so did not get to see everything. What we saw made us merit another longer visit.
walking through Spoleto to find the duomo was a nice stroll. The church, like all of the beautiful ones we've seen in Italy, did not disappoint
We stayed in Spoleto a decade ago on our first trip to Umbria. I was wonderful returning this time later in the year, when the heat and humidity are less oppressive. The entire town is a joy, from the famous Duomo to the exceptional museum...More
The Cathedral is a beautiful Romanesque church with frescoes and interior flair. We spent some time quietly viewing the art and taking time to reflect inside this beautiful historic building.
Approaching the church from the main staircase is very impressive. Be sure to take the short 150 stair climb to the bell tower. The experience is worth it ....
