It is better to start the route from Bandipur.
In an hour and a half of descent you will enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains, surrounded by greenery. Along the way you will meet a giant stone, a mountain of stones in the shape of a star, a small cliff on which you can take cool photos!
The cave itself is very large. Admission costs 200 rupees. You will be given a flashlight, because it is very dark in the cave. I strongly advise you to take a rechargeable LED lamp with you to take amazing photos!
Baba lives in the cave, there are many bats.
There are very beautiful places!
Dress in clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, because it's wet in the cave and you can easily get dirty during the study.
After the cave you will have to go back to Bandipur or go down to the village.
A taxi from the village to Bandipur costs about 1000 rupees.

A cave filled with trash, depressingly sad. Foreigners get to pay 200/ locals 100 rupees to see a cave filled with trash. Save your money till they pay someone to clean the cave

There are two ways to access this cave:
From Bandipur via a long walk downhill through thick jungle - monkeys are at your footstep. Be aware that it will be very slippery at the stone paviours and you'll face loose ground as well. Wear proper walking boots - even necessary for the cave.
From Bimalnagar, on the highway, via a short and easy walk uphill.

First of all: The cave itself has light inside by now. But well, a cave is a cave - having a torchlight with you is always helpful.

We went there straight after lockdown, so no guide was around and no entrance fee was to pay. Aaaaand the above mentioned light was switched off. Luckily we've met a couple outside who was in there before - otherwise we would have missed out on exploring the cave 'cause I'm not to adventurous. And in fact it would have been quite dangerous. There are some slippery parts inside the cave (even in dry season) and very dark areas - it goes deep down. From what we could see the cave is impressive - so definetly worth a visit.

Very impressive cave. Didn’t expect the cave to be so big. It is good day hike and back from Bandipur town to the cave. Or one can reach there after a short walk from Dumre. For Nepal it is a moderate hike but do keep in mind it takes some level of fitness to get there.

We took a bus from Bandipur down to Dumre and walked to Bimalnagar from where we hiked (1200 stairs) up to the cave. It was tiring but totally worth the workout. At the entrance guides welcomed and took us on tour for Rs200 per person. They provide torches but I recommend to bring your own headlamp. The cave is impressive and also challenging as you have to use ropes and ladders to get through the chambers.

Great way to spend the afternoon and lovely walk in nature. Good workout up and down the steps to the cave from Bandipur - walk though forest and see monkeys! The cave is impressive- almost half a km walk through. Bring good shoes and recommend your own headlamp(eventhough the guide carries one) as it's really dark and if you want to see more of the details inside. Expect basic ropes and ladders as you walk through the caverns and sections.

Very original cave with no special lightings (please keep it that way). As I was the only tourist there at that time, I got a personalised tour into the cave. Guide was very professional, instructing you specific steps to take at the steeper slopes.
Enjoy a 2 minutes silence and darkness of the cave at the end. Wonderful experience.

We came to this cave on a tour with Hardcore Nepal. We arrived in the area by tourist bus and then walked the rest of the way to the cave, stopping for lunch at Siddha cave bamboo cottage and restaurant on the way. There are hundreds and hundreds of stairs leading up to the mouth of the cave. You need to be fairly fit to just make it up there. We were impressed with the older people that we saw there that had managed to make the ascent. We joked that the baba that lives in the cave must have decided it wasn't worth the effort of climbing down the mountain again and maybe that is why he lives there. The views walking up the hill are worth the effort.
The cave has a main entrance that most of the people use and then if you walk further up there's a gated off section that has another entrance that requires you to abseil into the cave in two stages – one 15m drop and one 50m drop. Hardcore Nepal is the only tour organiser that provides abseiling in the cave. They were fantastic and we felt very safe the whole time. They have set up their own anchors for abseiling in the cave.
We came to the cave on a Monday, which is when many women fast and come to the cave for religious reasons. There were many women in the cave when we were there, walking through the cave barefoot with beautiful saris on to give offerings at alters inside the cave.
When we exited the cave via the main entrance, there were people giving blessings and a baba was there meditating.
This cave has an interesting combination of natural beauty, adventure and cultural significance. It is one of the biggest caves in Nepal and is a good place to visit to break up a journey between Chitwan and Pokhara.
