The review does not refer to the context of the place which would be 10 stars, but to the price paid at the car park which is located after the pass towards Selva, where there is also a hotel. I parked the car before 8 and picked it up around 10.30. Total 9 euros for 3 hours of parking. I've never seen something like this in my life, it costs almost the same as a lift. Now they have put up all the guardrails and you can no longer park on the street, they have doubled the parking spaces and instead of halving the ticket they have made disproportionate prices. Apart from the fact that I would like to know who this money is going to, if the reason for this exoticism is to encourage people to use public transport, they have succeeded with me, in the sense that I will never go to that place again, there are others just as beautiful less expensive. I apologize if the review is out of context saddle step, but it is right that people know.

This place is called Mountains view point Passo Gardena. From this area you can see the view of the Passo Gardena mountain range from the side view as far as the eye can see. In front of this view is a small pond. which is during the period when there is a lot of water and the wind is calm You will see a view of the mountains reflected above the water.

Located in the Dolomites, it connects the Val Gardena valley with Val Badia, which is a side valley of Val Pusteria. They call these mountain ranges together the Sella group, with the highest peak being Piz Boè. This nearby area is It is the highest located holiday resort of Alta Badia.

The scenery of the limestone mountain range that surrounds almost the entire area is a perfect and beautiful sculpture that nature has created. The road in this area is also said to have some of the most beautiful curves in the Dolomites, making it attractive to cyclists. And motorcycle riders want to come and experience the incredible experience of this road.

Arriving at 9.45 we still found some parking, but it is the week of August.
Many possibilities for walks, we followed the path of the city of stones and arrived at the comic refuge... short stop, we had a drink and then returned to the pass.
Lunch at the Salei refuge, very kind and helpful (we were with friends and we had 2 German shepherds), excellent lunch... small afternoon stop to let our dogs play.
The only flaw is the parking, €17 from 9.45am to around 5.45pm, but the view is fantastic!

Passo Sella as the name suggests, is a mountain road passing through Dolomites if you're driving from Canazei. This has become very popular stop now because there are some more hotels and restaurants that must've been built due to people constantly stopping and camping along the road. Also there is a cable car too which is either new or I just didn't see last time I was here. Parking is kind of a problem in summer months because it is a narrow two lane mountain road so most people just park in a gravel layby or whatever ditch they can find to fit their car in.

Hiking options are plenty. No matter which direction you go or trail you take, you'll find the beautiful views. But to access and see the three peaks Alpe di Siusi from other side, you have to keep driving and take a cable car from any town further from the Sella.

Bellissimo. In high season parking spaces run out around 10 am and only begin to thin out around mid-afternoon.
If you do not have a performing car I Recommendation to climb from Ortisei, slightly less demanding and wider road. Very busy in the morning and late afternoon.

As spectacular as it is busy, the Sella Pass offers unforgettable views and hiking trails for every leg. As well as for road reasons, connecting the Ladin valleys of Fassa and Gardena, the pass is very popular with cars and especially motorbikes as it is part of the traditional "tour of the four passes" with Gardena, Campolongo and Pordoi. Beautiful, but to be avoided in high season and on weekends.

Beautiful area. Magnificent almost 360° view
At more than 2000m, the stop is worth it. To stay there for an hour and stroll on the pastures or go hiking.
Possibility of taking the famous small cabins and accessing the Demetz refuge. A little expensive.... Accessible with a dog.
Concerning the parking, no racketeering as read in other comments.
Ticket at the entrance and you pay at the terminal...

It is the pass that connects Val di Fassa to Val Gardena. We arrived comfortably by bus from Selva so we didn't have any parking problems. Needless to say, the view around is fantastic. Various paths start from here, we opted for the one that took us to the Sassopiatto refuge. Too bad only about the weather, not the best

Driving up the pass from Selva we already enjoyed the magnificent views. The hotel occupies a beautiful spot on top of the pass with the skiing piste and chair lift right in front of it. The view from our room on the Langkofel was simply stunning.
Rooms were large and nicely decorated with very good beds.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent (and plentiful!). There is a four course menu with several choices in the evening but when the kids wanted something else this was never a problem.
All staf were equally helpful and friendly.
We really enjoyed being high up on the mountain and starting and finishing our ski trips right in front of our hotel.
One minor wish would have been a larger lounge to relax after a long skiing day. There is a lounge but it is very small. But this will certainly not keep us from coming back. We already made our reservations for 2019!

This lift only runs in the summer, so if you are there when it is running, do make the effort to take it to the Toni Demetz Hut high above the Sella Pass. Unlike most modern gondolas, this one does not slow down as it passes through the bottom station. You have to chase after it and are bundled in by the attendants. The ride is amazing, close to the rock walls and high above the zigzag path. Once you have been helped out at the top the views are just tremendous. Back in the direction of the Sella Pass you can pick out Passo Pordoi, and the glaciers of the Marmolada. Looking the other way you can see the meadows of Alpe di Siusi, whilst high above you rock climbers get to grips with the near vertical cliffs.
The Demetz Hut offers food and drink before you either embark on the fairly ambitious hike around the Langkofel, or enjoy another ride in that amazing gondola.
If you buy the Gardena Card this lift is included.
Whilst in the hut, read the sad tale of the reason for its construction back in the 1950's.
