This church is the most famous monument in Riva. It was built in 1603 and it was consecrated in 1636 commissioned by Gaudenzio Madruzzo and his wife Alfonsina Gonzaga as a place of pilgrimage and custody of a miraculous shrine. The church is in an elegant Baroque style. On the outside it is square shaped, on the inside octagonal with five altars, three gates, vaults with frescos and stuccoes, confessionals in carved wood and marble pavements.

We walked into the town for coffee and decided to look into this church which from the outside looks a little dirty but when you go inside wow totally not what you expect to see.

Most amazing little church of 1600 with so much incredible art and atmosphere. Could have spent all day there.

My wife and i were out for a stroll and came upon this old church. It does not look much from the outside but boy oh boy from the inside it is really something else. Best described by looking at the pictures attached. There is just so much to see on the walls, the ceiling, the altar, the floor, even the... More

Visited this church while staying in Riva del Garda. What it lacks in size is made up for by its grandeur. The walls and ceiling are beautifully decorated. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

The outside of this church is deceptive. Inside you will find a nicely restored, octagonal room. It is truly beautiful. The art and the altars very interesting. You must look up, you will be amazed. Well worth the short walk from the centre of town. Just make sure there is not a funeral in progress. Details are published on a... More

We came upon this little church while walking from the bus station to the lakeside. From the outside it isn’t particularly attractive, and although the octagonal main building is unusual, we weren’t too bothered about stopping. On the way back to catch our bus, we found ourselves with time to kill, so decided to have a look inside. What is... More

This was a beautiful church but unfortunately we were chased out by a rat, couldn't believe it, it jumped down from the altar
