The route is well marked (brown "heritage" signs) close to the circle. The path is paved/concrete and not very exhausting bringing you through a lush area. (Some guys naturally had to sprint up...). The Bastion itself is interesting but not that impressive since most of...More

Worth the effort if you can manage the climb up the zig-zagging footpath. Free entry and a reasonably priced café when you get there. Recommend an early start before the day warms up!

Really recommend this visit although it is a bit of a climb but there are seats to have a wee rest but it's worth it and there's a lovely coffee shop at the top and the views are stunning

It’s a bit of a hike up but well worth it when you get to the top. There is a lovely place to have a drink at the Bastionand the views are spectacular of the lake and surrounding area

A gentle easy climb to the Bastion which was small but quite well preserved with a lovely restaurant by the side and fantastic views of Riva and the lake.

It was a very hard walk up to it for a very unfit person like me but well worth the effort. A cafe at the top and fantastic views.

Had meant to make the climb to The Bastion each time that we stayed in Riva but never made it but this time we did. The walk up was not too bad, just take your time. View amazing and a nice cafe as well.

Beautiful once up there. My asthma was playing up, had to stop at every bench to catch breath. But was well worth it when we reached destination

Wonderful views but a very exhausting walk up the zig-zag path. Some markers along the way or something to let you know how much further you have to go would be helpful, glad we visited but there are many other things I'd recommend before doing...More

I agree with the other answers, it would be possible with difficulty. The pathway has tracks for cars but these might be too wide for a wheelchair. Having said that, many families with children in buggies made it up the... More

It's a steadily steep climb up, but on a well-surfaced trail.
