A gorgeous town that we have raved about to anyone who will listen since our first trip in 2014. We loved it so much that we recently stayed there again (June 2023). Unfortunately our experience was not as good as the first time and, whilst I would recommend a visit, I would not recommend staying here at the moment. Currently the road from Ravello to Amalfi is closed due to large buses due to a tragic accident that occurred earlier in the year. The town has put on a small shuttle bus which is able to use the direct route (and takes 15 to 20 mins) but it seats only around 25 passengers and there are always double of triple this number of people wanting to get on the bus (and it only runs about 5 times a day). Once it did not turn up at all as the bus has broken down. If you aren't able to get on the small bus (in 4 days we were only able to get on it once) you have to take the large bus which has to drive the long way around and takes between 1hour to 1 hour & 40 mins. This means it is very difficult to plan your day as you never know what time you will get to Amalfi to catch connecting buses or ferries and you never know what time you'll get back to Ravello for dinner reservations. It also means that you spend 2 - 3 hours a day just getting up and back to Amalfi! There is more to the story but suffice to say that the bus situation was a nightmare and I would strongly recommend not staying in Ravello until the road is fixed!

Very nice town, great to walk around, helpful and friendly locals. We have walked from Amalfi, passing by Atrani. We loved the views and the cozy environment. Also, nice places to grab a bite and relax after the walk

Very beautiful town. A pleasure to visit it. We went to Villa de Rufulo, which was a delight. Had a very nice and yummy meal there. The views of the Amalfi coast, as well as coast towns Minori and Majori were one of a kind. Gorgeous.

This was our return visit to Ravello, havinglast visited 15 years ago ! It's still as charming, time seems to have stood still. We arrived here by the Sitabus from Amalfi. Apart from the obligatory villa visits, it's a wonderful place to stroll aimlessly exploring every little alleyway and artist or ceramic shop. The views are terrific, given its perched position on the coast, and the walk down to Minori is highly recommended.

Don't miss this place! I plan to go again during their music festival. The property is really special and perched on the bluff of Ravello. The garden terraces are a must see as well!

Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone in Ravello are the main attractions of this town. Both are breathtaking and if I had to suggest to chose one for those who are limited in time, I wouldn’t be able to! Villa Rufolo’s best part is the two level garden with flowers called “Garden of the Soul” and the best part of Villa Cimbrone is the Terrace of Infinity with marble statues. Truly a must see for visitors of Amalfi Coast.

The trip up to Ravello is not for the faint of heart! It is quite the drive but not to be missed. I would advise taking the local bus as the drivers are very experienced & allow you to see all the beautiful views on the way up. There are quite a few sights to see in Ravello & I would recommend at least the better part of the day spent sightseeing. Just lovely!!! It would be a perfect honeymoon spot!

The whole of Ravello is breathtaking, and the gardens of Villa Ruffolo are no exception. A must-see if you're in the area. Even if you are not, Ravello is definitely worth an excursion! From Villa Cimbrone, the view is. just. unbelievable. Do not walk, run there!
