San Francesco's church, in the homonym square (XII-XIV sec.), it is located in the nucleus of the Oldest City of Prato and an Important Place of Catholic worship and one of the first Franciscan Churches with his big convent built on the ground that was donated by the municipality to the friars minor only eight days after the canonization of the saint, in 1228.

if you read my reviews you know i seak about art and frescoe painting often. i do this because i love them, and i paint them. in the cappella migilorati are terrific frescoes of niccolo gerini. beautiful blue skies in the domes with saints, in the arches your typical biblical stories, but such beauty..

there is also a museum next to the church, a courtyard with columns, a very peaceful, quiet place in the middle of the city. The church door was not open when we sit on the steps before the gate and leaned against the big beautiful gate. Suddenly we heard a key. I had just said to my husband, and suddenly... More
