Tucked into the rock face along the main road are two sculptures worth noting: the nativity and mini-Praiano. They are both on the same section of cliff and are both safely protected form the elements.
What's so cool about these art pieces is the attention to detail AND the fact that it's installed in the rock! The nativity scene is a little small and a little more worn, but is still worth a look. The mini-town section is amazing. It's so cool to see how the artist laid out everything in miniature (before the large hotels came into town).
Be advised though, it is along the main road, which is an interesting adventure in itself. We walked everywhere, so it was easy for us to just stop for a minute and look at the sculptures in detail. In a car, however, it may be more difficult to simply stop and get out.
Watch for cars, bikes, and those crazy SITA busses!

Our 4 yr old loved the miniature village and you can see most of it in this picture. It’s on the roadside as you leave the village of Praiano heading East.
It’s slightly past its glory - I think it was a temporary art installation setup a few years ago, and isn’t maintained.
Still, if you’re nearby and want to entertain the kids for 10 mins it’s handy!

Saw the "Presepe" and it is amazing, looks like they tried to make a sculpture of Praiano itself. Really impressing and with good ilumination so that you can see it at night. Compared to a traditional Christmas "pesebre" in Spain it is huge.

The place has NEGLECT written all over it. Better upkeed is requested with concerned authorities. The view out to sea is good. The more it is looked after, the more paying tourists will come.

I walked 6 km this morning looking for this miniature village which appears to not be there any more. Then this evening just outside my hotel (the Amalfi side of Praiano between the two tunnels) there it is. It may not be the same one but I couldn’t find one at the location indicated by this site.

We had this on our list of things to see. We were eating lunch and looked up and saw the scene in the rocks. We were happy to have spotted it.

Rather like Positano, there is a structure built into the rockface at the side of the road before arrival into the town itself. In this case it is a mini version of Praiano. Not a must do, but keep any eye out for this feature.

This a miniature rendition of the town plus it has a nativity. You can't miss it as it is right along the main road. The art that is really interesting in Praiano is the installation of ceramic art all over the town, although you will have to walk up and down stairs to see most of it.

There are several of these presepe along the Amalfi coast road. Do pull over and take a look, and pics too! Who would imagine finding replicas of villages on the side of the road! This project was completed over years by a local artist, donations can be left in secure boxes at the different sites.
