A nice touch!

We found this place after walking up the steps from the Fornillo beach. We had read about it but had no idea where it was. It is as lovely as everyone else describes. You'd only... read more

This is such a beautiful place to visit due to the work it involved in creating it. Unfortunately there is no writing to indicate it's purpose or its background.

We found this place after walking up the steps from the Fornillo beach. We had read about it but had no idea where it was. It is as lovely as everyone else describes. You'd only look at it for 5 mins or so but it is nice to walk by it as you're on your way back into or out... More

We stumbled upon this little roadside grotto after we exited the lot 50m up the street after parking our car (4€ per hour or fraction). We thought it was, for a one hundred year old effort, quite compelling. We snapped a few photos, studied the miniatures for 5 minutes, and were off down the road for a stroll. Google Maps... More

I took so many pictures of this place because I did not think I could describe it and due it justice. If you in Positano you should not miss seeing this spot. So unique and amazing the carvings into the rock face.

Stuck on the side of a busy road in Positano is a collection on small houses and a shrine. There is much detail in the renderings including stairs with a wooden rail on the path. There is another one on the road from Positano to Amalfi in which the houses are painted different colors. I prefer the one in Positano.... More

The Grotto on the roadside is a real insight into the Italian beliefs both with religion and family. Very basic though. Hard to park and view.

The road through Positano has a grotto with minature houses and it is interesting. There are more extensive collections in other locations along the main Almalfi coast road. See photos to see what they look like.

Our tour guide knows the person who builds this mini-city. It is expensive and I guess from the sign in Italian the creator is not getting much support from the municipality. Not really beautiful but creative and worth a quick look.

Just down the road from our hotel and the location for the Positano Internal bus stop, however, grotto does not merit a special trip!
