It's a great walk up the hill through the streets of Montepulciano. Your reward for this trek is the Plazza Grande at the top of the hill. A very "old world" feel to your surroundings. Such different styles of architecture to explore.

The piazza grande in town is small and worth a look. There is a blend of renaissance and medieval buildings here and in the area. You can climb the tower if you wish for the view

Beautiful cathedral, a well designed by Sangallo with the Medici's coat of arms. There are some of the most beautiful buildings in Montepulciano designed by the best architects of the Renaissance such as Antonio da Sangallo the Elder, Michelozzo Michelozzi and Ippolito Scalza.

Even if you chose carefully, public parking for visitors may be pretty far from the Piazza Grande, situated at the top of the village..., but it´s worth walking up the narrow streets and enjoying some of the historical buildings of Montepulciano.

A slow trek to this hill top brought an amazing view of this quaint village. Filled with people and wine shops along the way, this is a must visit while in Tuscany.

We had a great experience using a company in Cortona for our visits around Tuscany. “Together in Tuscany”. Check out their website and contact them. They will do a great job putting visits around the area together for you.
