This was a great way to spend a few hours and get an informative insight in to this winery in Montepulciano. We went for the 10.30 tour and were shown around the beautiful cellar and told about the history of the vineyard. We were also shown an Etrusean cave. We were then seated in the tasting room and had 6 glasses of wine to try with bread, oils and brushetta. I didn't think we were getting so much tasting so was pleasantly surprised. There was no rush and no pressure to purchase wines either. We probably emerged at midday having learnt a little more about the wonderful Tuscan wines. Great setting, lovely wines and a great guide too.

We hadn’t booked so missed out on the full tour today but we waited a while in the sunshine and got the pleasure of tasting several of the wines. The whole team were very enthusiastic and professional. It was good to lean more about the wines in a relaxed environment. We bought a bottle to take home for a treat as unfortunately Brexit has really messed up shipping bottles back to the UK easily.

We thoroughly enjoyed the staff, they are friendly and welcoming. Emilio's tour was fantastic, he is a sommelier and we enjoyed hearing about this training. He is so very knowledgeable about the winery's history and is able to explain things in a way we could understand and appreciate. The wine is fantastic and we enjoyed a lunch that was prepared by a wonderful woman (I'm sorry we do not recall her name). There was no pressure to purchase (but we did). We highly recommend this tour if you are in Montepulciano.

This wine tour and tasting was the best out all we did during our trip to Italy. Emilio was so knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. His love and enthusiasm for wine was clear to see. The cellar is amazing. The wine is delicious! We ordered 2 cases!!! And the owner was so friendly and interested in from what country/town every guest was visiting. This should be on everyone's list to experience!

My mom and I had an excursion booked for us here by our travel agency (Your own Italy) & it is safe to say we were not disappointed. After traveling to mega producer Banfi the day before (which was also lovely)- De Ricci's small, historic wine cellar was extremely unique. Our guide, Ron was absolutely wonderful- he was very knowledgeable ( the wines, the process, the company history, etc...), gave a history packed tour of the ancient cellar and caves & was friendly and welcoming. Cannot recommend him enough- he was very attentive to our questions & was very generous with our wine tastings (which were also DELICIOUS). We wound up shipping an entire case of wine back to the states. Anyone who is going to Montepulciano, this wine cellar is a MUST SEE & I hope you get Ron as your guide!

Sunday April 14th. The visit was amazing, the wine cathedral, the cellars, everything well organized and very well explained. Our guide, Federico, provided one of best explanations I've ever had: detailed but not boring, entertaining but never trivial. From the wine aging techniques to the food-wine coupling, he made this experience unforgettable. A big thumb up.

We went to the winery outside of the city first for a tour and wine/food pairing. It was a beautiful view and fabulous wine and food pairing with Emilio. We met the winemaker, Niccolo and his wife and he allowed us to taste some of his wine from barrels. We then went into the old city to tour the wine cave. You can't miss it. Emilio met us there and gave us a fantastic tour with ALL the history of the family and the site. It was a very memorable tour.

Not only did we love the wine tour of this very unique winery, we adored all the wines here as well! Very rarely will we purchase all the wines we taste but here we did just that. Of all the wineries we visited on our three month trip this was in our top five wineries. We shipped home fifteen cases of wine and have a great appreciation of Italian wines.

We had a wonderful experience and afternoon at Cantina De Ricci. We started in town with the tour through the cellars, and then were escorted over to the vineyard and restaurant by the owners. They were very kind and informative. We had our 4 kids with us (ages 7-16), and everyone enjoyed the time. The food was amazing. They were accommodating to our child with nut allergies, and we just felt like we were amongst friends. Our time here will hold a special place in our hearts. We hope to return.

My husband and I stumbled upon this winery with our friends just before Christmas and realized we hit the jackpot about 2 minutes into our tour. The history is unbelievable and a must visit if you're in Montepulciano. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us details about their history while walking us through their Etruscan caves. The family history plus the connection with the hedgehog is very interesting! Following the tour we sat down for a wine tasting. The wines are excellent and we ended up shipping a couple cases home to Texas. And we returned again in May for more! It's our go to wine now.... They are in the Forbes Top 50 wines in Italy- and there's something like 100,000+ wineries in Italy - so that's a pretty big deal. Excellent quality and value. 11 out of 10 stars
