About
If you have entered this site it means that you like to taste genuine and high quality food! We are a Tuscan farm that raises pigs, in a semi-wild state, of Cinta Senese and the gray of the oaks; both species of pigs freely graze on our land located between the uncontaminated countryside of the Valdichiana, in Montepulciano. We offer our guests a tour of the farm where you will walk in the olive grove, meet the pigs of Cinta Senese and you can have lunch or taste our products.

We stayed a few days near the farm and discovered by chance this fantastic place where we returned to eat twice. Friendly, nice and hospitable owners. Excellent food, exquisite ribollita and fantastic pici with garlic sauce, not to mention the cured meats, cheeses and wine made by them. We will definitely be back.

We had the chance to take a tour of the property with the very friendly owner. Olive trees, vineyards, vegetable gardens and Cinta Senese pig breeding. Lunch was just excellent! Bravo zncore for this little corner of paradise. We recommend without hesitation.

The manager at our villa recommended we visit this farm. We are a family of five and looking to immerse in the local culture. We found it here.
This is not a commercial, scripted (well, sort of not scripted; Roberto, the farmer, did read from notes but only to help with his English) experience. There was no fee to visit; only to sample or buy the meats and any other products or wine from his small shop.
Roberto has been offering guided tours only as of recently.
Roberto introduced us to his black pigs who are raised for locally produced prosciutto, salami, etc. The farm raises the pigs but does not process the meats so this is a peaceful and positive experience; not a slaughterhouse. In fact, his affection for the mother and father pigs was apparent.
Roberto walked us through the family olive orchard, showed us their small family cantine where they make their own wine for personal consumption.
We then relaxed in a shed where he served us portions of the meats with a bottle of wine (water and soda were also available).
You don't visit here just to check the box of a new place to visit. And you don't wear your favorite new shoes or pants. We were given booties to cover our shoes because we did walk through mud.
I rated this five stars not because it is a polished, professional tour experience; it's not. I rated it five stars because I can't imagine a more authentic, genuine look into a small, Tuscan farm with a wonderfully kind-hearted host. His passion for what he does and how they do it was evident. And, as with every place in Montepulciano, the views are breathtaking.

So so good! Roberto is wonderful and generous with his time and his food and wine! Great to get out into the country - about a 40-minute walk from the main part of town in Montepulciano, but stunning views walking through farms and vineyards to get there. Loved meeting the pigs and learning about the Tuscan ways of farming, and the “light lunch” with wine was delicious and filling. Can’t recommend highly enough.

A true Tuscan farm tour with lunch. Roberto was delightful and charming. We toured the vineyard, the olives trees, the pigs (they are not stinky or muddy) but it is a true working farm and we had salami and pancetta for lunch. A great experience.

We had the most memorable evening with Roberto. The food was delicious as was the wine! We purchased pig t-shirts which we still wear now with the lovely Cheero on them. Roberto went above and beyond to make our visit special. We hope to return one day!

We stumbled upon this place by chance through a recommendation through our host. While we hesitated at first , we went ahead with the visit. We were warmly welcomed by Roberto to his family farm where the priced black Tuscan pigs are raised in a hygienic and harmonious environment. His dried local meats and sausages are cured on site and he offers the most tantalising tasting lunch where the guests are served with his own wines, olive oil, spreads and of course his own cured meats. It is a wonderful experience we will repeat where we had the chance to taste some of the best local delicacies. It is far better than a tasting platter that one can order at any restaurant. And we have travelled to many places and have dined in many restaurants! We highly recommend this place.

🐖🐽🐷CINTA SENESE PIG FARM TOUR🐷🐽🐖
Phil and I spent today at the most AH-mazing authentic Tuscan experience in Montepulciano called Fattoria Madonna della Querce.
Roberto and his gracious wife, along with his father-in-law run this charming Fattoria where they breed and care for the most incredible animals. The CINTA SENESE Pig.
Cinta Senese is an antique breed of Italian pig that gets its name from it’s region of origin, the hills surrounding Siena. They have been bred since Roman times. The name "cinta" (belt in English) comes from the peculiarity of this pig of having a pink belt around its chest, while the rest of the body remains dark coloured.
After a lovely walk thru the olive groves to a brief history of Roberto’s family and farm we come to the area where we meet the famous CIRO, the 300kg dad to all of the pigs on the farm. He was very content laying in the mud but did not mind getting up for a quick photo op… We moved on to the adolescent piglets where we fed them some fresh plums growing on a tree nearby. We continued the tour walking through the rest of the farm where the older pigs enjoyed mud baths, playing with us and the hose for some water fun, basking in the sun and trying their hardest to get to the sunflowers for a little snack.
After the tour we sat at a lovely table under an umbrella on a beautiful deck overlooking this entire scene.
The second half of the afternoon was enjoying multiple courses of the most mouthwatering meats including Salumi, Lardo, Salsiccia, Loin, Capocollo, Guanciale, Pancetta and Prosciutto; along with local Percorino from Pienza; Homemade Crostini with mixed local spreads including my favorite “Patè di fegato di pollo”; A delicious Summery Panzanella salad made with ingredients from their vegetable garden growing a few feet away.
And then… When there was no room left. We had homemade Vin Santo with my absolute favorite Almond Cantucci.
We are thrilled to have spent the day at this magical farm in Montepulciano. Roberto, his wife and his father-in-law
are truly passionate and are incredible teachers to give us a glimpse into the world of taking care of and making sure that this almost extinct breed of pig continues on happily in it’s homeland.
Grazie Mille Roberto for the invitation…
