Stopping in Mestre I thought that we would be in the middle of ordinary area but unexpectedly found this surprise just near our hotel.

The square is very large with nice buildings, especially the lovely Art Nouveau Cinema Excelsior, and a modern fountain. Lovely open space but very quiet when we visited on a Sunday.

When closed to traffic means closed to all forms of traffic, including bicycles; you have a pedestrian marvel. Add trendy bars and venues where you can enjoy a cake or two and you have a piazza made for a quite stroll.

Βeautiful, picturesque square. It is worthwhile to go for a walk and have a coffee there. Unfortunately, it has no trees, although it gives it a special character.

The square contains various shops and cafes. Links to other pedestrianised streets. Close to bus and tram stops. Large enough for civic events.
