The tour begins with a rather unusual 4D video experience which is great fun but doesn't really tell you anything. You then go with a guide through the cellars and learn all about the history of Marsala production, the Florio family and the company up to the present day. Finally you enter a wonderful tasting room where you taste 4... More

An English trader John Woodcock in 1973 discovered the local wine of Marsala. He decided to bring it home and fortified it to increase its alcohol content so as to assist its travel capability and thus created Marsala as we know it today. This is one of the many facts you learn from the excellent presenter on visiting the Florio... More

We have tried to book a tour in the morning but where told that it was all booked but we just stopped by after our trip to the beach and we got lucky and managed to get 2 spots. The guide was extremely friendly and even gave us 1 entry for free, which was much appreciate, thank you. It all... More

Great history with good tasting at the end. At least the cellars are cool. Bit of walking but on one level. Well worth taking the time to do

As the town has given it's name to this wine it seems important to understand its history and traditions. A comprehensive visit and guide in English was very good, followed by a structured food & wine tasting to increase understanding for novices of the differences in both Marsalas and the companies local table wines.

we were looking forward to the visit of Florio: tasting the wines and getting all the info. Unfortunately all tours that day were already fully booked. All we could do is walk around a bit and visit the shop. the area is really nise and well maintained. so make sure you book you place a few days in advance.

Lovely place, great guide with excellent English! 4 wines paired with antipasti, cheap to buy in the wine store after! Interesting information provided but not overload!

Our tour - with excellent English speaking guide - began with an awful animated movie of two corks having a discussion about the history and heritage of Marsala wines. Seriously. This would have been aimed at 8 to 10 year old prospective customers. To add to the enjoyment it is shown in a 4D cinema, complete with blasts of wind... More

We had an excellent tour of this estate. It was private (2 of us) by sheer chance. The guide was engaging and informative. The cellars are photographably beautiful, and the tour nicely paced. The food pairings enhanced the wine tasting experience. The booklet accompaniment is an extra treat. Simply stated, we had fun doing the wine and food tasting! The... More

The wines were pleasant. The cellar was interesting. To be clear, there are no vineyards, just cellars. The 4d movie at the start of the tour is odd and out of place at a winery which prides itself on its heritage. The tour itself is disjointed and does not really seem to have a coherent theme. The tasting is nice... More
