this is a lovely museum/archeologico site at the foot of marsala. don't worry about crowds - we were the only two people there! but, that said, it was a very nice experience - and all for E4.00

We walked all thorough the city in beaming hot sunshine reaching the museum and the notice of it being closed. The notice referred us to a place that wasn't searchable on Google Maps and when we finally found the place (Lillibeo) all there was to see a was a hole in the ground, no information in English and no shade... Everything of note is closed off to visitors, including the Punic ship. Marsala sounded better in the guide book than in real life, so the drive down followed by the museum were a real disappointment

The site is large but virtually empty. There is a partly exposed roadway, the remants of the floor of a baths and a museum. Almost all the information boards are blank and the museum has hardly any explanation in English. Not worth 4 euros!

The famous punic ship is closed due to a reconstruction. Except a few mosaics, vases and statutes there is nothing more to see. Everything is only in italian, no english information about exhibits.

This is a huge archeological site with museum and Roman mosaics. Part of the museum was closed when we visited and so entrance was free. However, we did get to see the remains of Greek and Roman ships and were escorted around some of the main exhibits by some students who were practicing their Language skills by explaining the sights... Biggest disappointment in Marsala - the famous reconstruction of the punic ship consists of few pieces of wood and some drawings, descriptions etc. Not even a model of a ship... If you want to actually see the ship, fotget it - you will regret the expendicure of few euros. Other exhibits are mainly pots, vases, stone parts of the buildings... More

Like other visitors we would agree that this museum is good in parts, with the Punic ship being the best draw. The outside Roman and Punic ruins are poorly presented with minimal signage, often damaged. As often is the case in Sicily this museum provides no guidebooks or mementos to buy. Having said that the galley is very impressive and... More

I Don't know if this is a bad joke or serious museum , somebody forgot to take care about this place. Its better to spend 4 euro to buy a wine then visit this place . Really bad and sad experience.
