It was so worth the long drive.... We took advantage of the good sunny weather and decided to drive from Naples up to this amazing statue. Drove until the parking area then you have the option to go up by walking or take the shuttle bus ( 1€ back and forth ). Once there, you got to see the beautiful... More

Hair raising journey up to the car park, then a steep walk to view this amazing statue, which whilst modern, still makes you gasp.

If you're lucky enough to stay in Maratea ensure you do this! STUNNING views of this wonderful area, and the statue magnificent in grandeur. Looking over to "ghost town" , and other scenes while reading history fascinating. As it was a HOT day caught the bus up but walked back to the car park, the winding roads - think Top... More

The car drive takes you to the top in winter,in summer there is a shuttle and when you see the views from the top wooowww, looking over one of the most beatiful coasts in Italy. Christ himself is huge looking a little worn,go visit Jesus but go for the views

This would be a challenging walk from the town or even more so the port but well worth it. That being said we drove up which in itself offered its own excitement. Check out the images of the road if you can beforehand as its something else.

The winding road to get to the Statue is an amazing experience in its own. Parked the car in the lot and rode the shuttle for a small fee. Beautiful and interesting area. Small church, gift shop and restaurant were also at the top of the hill. An amazing Statue and experience.

We went out of season so the roads were quiet, thank goodness as the drive up is incredible, wouldn't like to meet a coach on those bends. As we were visiting out of season the first car park we encountered was shut but don't be put off drive to the top where you can park for free. During high season... More

Drive up to Cristo Redentore, enjoy the curves and the last bridges in order to achieve the top. From there you will be able to see the small city of Maratea on one side, and the mediterranean on the other side, with small stoney beaches

Beautiful trip to the top that is a must! You can see all the cities around. This stair is a maxing and the drive to the statue is a very unique and incredible drive. There are only a few places in the world with Statues like this and it's a point seen from all the areas around it. If you... More
