One of my favourite places in the world!

Been coming here since I was a kid! Giglio has the best views and is the most relaxing place! Going on a hike and visiting cannelle beach are must dos!

We spent the day at the Island, which you get to by ferry. I highly recommend renting Vespas for the day and driving around the entire island. The beaches are great too.

This little island is a place to see by anyone spending some time in Tuscany. Most common way to get there is the ferry from Porto San Stefano but there are smaller tour operators going there from other places (more to the north, i.e. san vincenzo). The port (Porto Giglio) is a nice place with the best nutella ice cream... More

Off the beaten path, this island is full of locals who know how to enjoy their relaxation. The island is full of hiking trails so everyone can get a bit of exercise to work off those huge Gigliese meals

Sunny everyday, hot, but breezy. Nights are cool, mornings warm. Sunshine everyday. Does it ever rain? Water so clear you can see the fish swim by. It is deeper than it looks. Plenty of rocks from which to jump and places to swim. Snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, fishing. Do it all. When the water is still it looks like the... More

We enjoyed a sailing trip to Giglio Island, and loved it. The views from the top are amazing, the port is wonderful to explore, and the town at the top is something you will have to see! And you must have lunch at Santi Ristoranti - it's about as authentic as it gets!

I took a 1 hour ferry from Porto Santo Stefano, departed at 10:30 in June. Two ferry companies operate. A return ticket is 24.50Euros. Nice change day at the beach. Felt more remote than the other beaches on mainland. very nice water. you can see Corsica. A bus service is scheduled to sync with the ferry on arrival in Giglio.... More

We took the ferry over from Porto Santo Stefano which takes about an hour. We started by touring the walled hilltop town of Giglio Castello and the Rocco Pisana fortress. We took a guided tour around the fortress that is still inhabited by 500 people. We visited their church and wandered around the tiny streets. After our tour we went... More

Take the bus from the ferry port up to Giglio Castello at the top of the mountain. Climb the city streets to the Church and there you will find some interesting relics and history of the Saracens (Tunisian) battle of 1799. Walk down on a mule path that is rock strewn but scenic.
