The courtyard and garden are treats, but the overwhelming jewel is the series of frescoes in the ceiling of the Treasure Room. Vibrant, living, enigmatic.

This museum is well worth visiting. It has the perfect combination of attractions with well displayed exhibits set in a beautiful, ancient building. It is not so big as to be overwhelming and many of the exhibit explanations are translated into English. The jewelry exhibit...More

The Etruscan pottery comes from the excavation in Spina, near Ferrara. The Palace is beautiful. It was totally empty when I went, I was the only visitor. It was amazing to walk through the rooms completely undisturbed.
