Very nice gate that marks the entrance into the medieval town. Picturesque place for a couple of pictures.

Nothing really special though, looks like Catania Gate or Messina Gate in Taormina, just smaller.
Not a place you should go specially to, but as I wrote you'll pass by there anyway when taking the cable car to get in the city.
Nice enough.

A traditional stone arched gateway that would have been the entrance to the town when it was surrounded by a wall. It is near to the cable-car from Trapani and the car/bus park. Interesting to see.

Lovely entrance to a totally lovely medieval town. When we visited Erice we were totally immersed in fog which actually enhanced the ancient scenery. Definitely want to return in the sunshine.

We looked out on this charming piece of history from our accommodation. Even though it is so old and narrow it is the main exit from this delightful small very old town. It actually marks the prestigious, historical entrance point. It leads to the first important site in the old town – Chiesa Matrice. Also from there uphill - Via Vittorio Emanuele leads to the town’s central point: Piazza Umberto I.

Nothing special but you pass through the portal to the small village. I had expected narrow streets lined by colourful flower displays seen in so many similar townships. Apparently only 200 people live there now and there was a kind of empty feeling. Plenty of churches to visit. Great views as well

On Tour Bus coming up the winding road to the City parking area. Did not understand that cars were not welcome and bus was a no no. Steep climb for a senior. Stone streets were dangerous for some of us but the walk was worth the effort.

Erice is a must-see destination if you're in the region. It's way up there with other medieval fortified towns such as St Cirq la Popie. Busy, but not crowded when we visited in September. Stray off the main streets for improved atmosphere. very often these were deserted and don't suffer from the collection of tourist ware. This is the gate you enter from the lift station (funerice)

The entrance immediately puts you in the picture of an ancient fortified city which I really like. I went back into time.
