This is beautiful mountain lake about a 3-3.5 hour trek from Cortina d'Ampezzo (routes 431 and 432 both work, but 431 is steeper/ rougher and so quicker if you are in decent shape). In late October it was unfrozen with great reflections of the surrounding rock. It's well worth it and whilst neither route is that hard, it's possible to... More

I have been here several times. This is an amazing lake near the summit of Passo Fedaia. This time it was not at its best but I have seen this as a frozen wonderland in May.

I stopped at there during the diriving from Selva di Cadore to Cortina d'Ampezzo in April 2016. The scenery looked great however the lake was still covered with ice and snow. I think it would be better to be there after May to fully enjoy the lake side.

Worth a drive to see. My wife and I were fortunate to see the lake during a small minibus tour from Venice. Nature at its best.

Don't miss it - DON'T I want to thank one of the member of trip advisor that after reading her recommendation I decided to go there. The picture you see is a real one..The view on the top (after a 15-20 M driving in a Jeep that is a Shuttle) is absolutely devine - walking along the lake is nice,... More

We hiked here as part of the Croda da Lago circuit, and I would highly recommend doing this loop if you're fit (rather than just hiking to the lake and back). We did not have a guidebook, but if you do a search for Croda da Lago loop or circuit you can find a map. We parked our car at... More

Started this trek, which was beautiful, but had to turn back as I was extremely ill. But we enjoyed the half we did do, and would try again if ever there.

At 2000m height and surrounded by amazing peaks such as Becco del Mezzodì and Croda da Lago the lake of Federa is the biggest and at the same time the most romantic lake of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The picture featuring this review, taken from north and viewing the Becco di Mezzodì on the south is very often one of the most... More
