The bay that stretches round from Cefalu town is really lovely, & sandy for most of it's length, so you can walk round the bay on the sand, or on the promenade that goes the full length - lovely.

The coastline at Cefalu is beautiful. The rugged cliffs and the sandy beach makes this quite popular. Take a hike up the hill or just relax on the beach, more then one option.

We stayed on the Cefalu Sea Palace which is has its own stretch of breath opposite the hotel and it's own swimming pool. Just a short walk into the town.
Is there any public transportation from Palermo to Cefalu? Or is renting a car required to get there?

There is a train that goes from Palermo to Cefalu. The ride was a little over and hour and the cost was around 15 euro. Definitely take the train, very easy and affordable!

We have just returned from two weeks in Cefalu. The beach is lovely and the old town, with its narrow cobbled streets, is delightful. The Duomo and the Museum are well worth a visit. There are numerous excellent coffee bars... More
