Perfectly organized diving center with a competent and friendly crew and a warm-hearted owner. The boat is very comfortable and after the dive you get a nice cup of hot tea and focaccia. My husband and I made the deep diver certificate at sub now. In these couple of hours we learned more about diving than in many courses before. Diving with sub now is like diving with the family. Hi, Can't praise the service too highly. Lucca has the most comfortable boat in Marina Di Campo and has had the sense to employ bright and friendly young instructors and dive masters. Having checked out a couple of other places first, it was instantly apparent that Lucca, Simoni, Alexandra and the other staff really enjoy the diving and are on Elba to 'live the dream'. Their enthusiasm is obvious and infectious. They appear to like each other as well as their customers. They are making a contribution to Elba by encouraging diver tourism and by taking an interest in the underwater environment. They are also safe and responsible. You couldn't ask for more in my opinion. As an English speaker in a business with a largely Italian-speaking customer base, I was surprised by the effort taken to engage me in conversation and make me feel at home. They even speak German too. As an older diver used to businesses that have become jaded over time, it was a very warm and pleasant experience. As for the diving, the water was clear and there are some nice dive spots with large rock formations and crevices. The fish life is relatively small and sparse compared to Australia, I suspect due to thousands of years of overfishing in the Mediterranean but it is still worthwhile diving. The island of Elba is stunningly attractive and the people are generally patient and warm (except on the road). Bring the family and sneak off for a few dives while they lounge on the lovely beaches. I would suggest that you email Lucca to plan your trip in advance. There are better times for certain wildlife like mola mola (sunfish) and optimum times to avoid crowds and colder sea temperatures. I did my open water diver licence with Sub Now over the summer and I've got to say how great they were. They were very professional. Luca and his team looked after us well on and off the boat. Whilst on one of many dives with them I noticed that they were also catering for children as well as adults which I was very impressed with. It seems to be that nothing is to much trouble for them and everything is done safely and easily. I would advise anyone who wanted to dive on Elba to go and see these guys.…
