This church is kind of a juwel, it is huge and beautyful and until 30 years ago it was the main church od the bishop who resided in Brixen. Brixen was a city with a bishop since 930 bc! The church is worth wile to be visited

Nice example of South German Rococo; frequent baroque musical events; the kloister has rather interesting freezes and frescoes depicting local life in the XV Century.

Beautiful architecture outside and nice art inside characterize this cathedral. Do not miss the adjoining cloister and chapel. The frescoes are really nice and worth seeing. We spent more time in the cloister than the church itself.

They filmed the German scene here of the 80s movie European Vacation! Always like knowing that fact! Beautiful place to visit!

History surrounds you in Brixen . The Cathedral is one of the central historical buildings to visit. The bells toll as they have done for centuries and remind you of strength and continuity for this most attractive and proud area.

We only spent part of a day in Bressanone and saw only the outside of the Duomo. It's located in a beautiful plaza and surrounded by streets with lots of shops and restaurants.

I was in Bressanone on a day trip from Bolzano - it makes a very nice one, under an hour on the train - about three weeks ago. I happened to choose the anniversary of Italian independence - and even if this place (aka Brixen) is mix of Germanic/Austrian and Italian, a large crowd gathered in cathedral Square for ceremonies.... One of the jewels of Bressanone. Well worthy of spending an hour or so strolling through the garden and appreciating the fine stained glass and architecture.

Exquisitely beautiful, a feast of colour and pattern. I'm not remotely religious but was overawed by this wealth of amazing craftsmanship.
