While in Brescia on a two-week business trip, I found myself with time on my hands over the weekend. Supremely unimpressed with the industrial area where I was staying, I looked around for other options. I picked this museum on a whim because it was...More

Hidden away at the end of Via del Muse' this roman villa, underneath a church, is a magnificent use of modern technology to enhance and display this beautiful roman villa.

We visited the museum on Saturday and could enter for free. A great collection of archeological finding was displayed from Roman until recent times. The chapel was espacially wonderful. We easily spend two hours there.

We tried a new augmented reality tour of the Roman ruins and it was very cool and informative. The museum is huge and well laid out, interesting and informative.

Take the time to do all of the museum. It will ground you in Brescia from the Roman period through the Medieval and later periods. Some beautiful mosaics and frescoes.

This museum does not take advantage of any of the fame of many of its counterparts in Italy but it is definitely one of the most interesting and enchanting I've ever visited. The whole structure is sensational and beautiful in so many ways. The monastery,...More
