Like all of Brescia, this museum deserves to be better recognized and appreciated. It is a sprawling edifice, encompassing a few former churches and monasteries. The chapel on the 2nd floor with its bejeweled crucifix and starry frescos is a must-see, comparable in my eyes...More

Take the time to do all of the museum. It will ground you in Brescia from the Roman period through the Medieval and later periods. Some beautiful mosaics and frescoes.

This museum does not take advantage of any of the fame of many of its counterparts in Italy but it is definitely one of the most interesting and enchanting I've ever visited. The whole structure is sensational and beautiful in so many ways. The monastery,...More

After going up a lot of steps on foot from Brescia we reached the museum - interesting and well kept exhibition with numerous artifacts- suits of armour, swords, battle related exhibits. Not many people about at this type of year!

This is a very good museum detailing the history of Brescia, making the most of fascinating monastery buildings, chapels and the Roman ruins found underneath them. The explanations in English are detailed throughout, and the staff were well informed, helpful, and passionate about the museum.

We had a real surprise in discovering this UNESCO site, composed by museum, churches, cloisters, roman villas, unusual choir. Just enjoy the discovery! Don't miss the nearby archeological site (with separate ticket)

Go to their website! As with all museums it changes seasonally. Plus when I was there they closed part of the museum for a special one day private event without notifying people until after you bought your ticket. But... More
