Worth visiting. The wild life habitat is seen having only few animals. Fish feeding, camel rides, games for children are there. No entry fee. Car parking is chargeable. Food is available in plenty. One can take long walks around the lake

A very calm and quiet place to spend a quality time. A beautiful lake with a lot of fishes and tortoises to see. Boating experience is also very good. Except a small stretch of bumpy road leading to mansar lake, every thing was good

It's a beautiful lake 70kms far from Jammu. You can reach here by bus or hiring a car. One day trip can be enough or can have a night stay. Some good hotels as well as J&K also runs cottages.

Just an okaish experience.
Poor maintenance around has lead to the demise of this lake.
Though the lake is large with beautiful trees all around and a circular running to a part of the boundary adds to the beauty.

I went here yesterday with my family, but I didn't like seeing the mess all around. If the government sanctions money for renovation here, where does that money go?
A request for all visitors, please don't put your wastages in anywhere, always use dustwins there, its our lake, our responsibility to keep it neat and clean.

Mansar lake is situated on the way of dhar udhampur road. It is almost 35 km away from Udhampur and 50 km away from Jammu town.

This beautiful lake is mainly famous for feeding the fishes. Though there is some mythological stories attached to this lake but I liked the fishes most, not to eat but to find school of fishes coming on the bank of the lake. Kids have fun to feed the fishes. Catching of fish is prohibited. The surrounding park and glimpse of hill situated far from the lake gives a heaven look to this natural treasure.

One can enjoy camel ride there to reach the small zoo situated on the bank of the lake. Peddle boat is also available for your enjoyment. There is a small restaurant runs by Jammu and Kashmir tourism department. Frankly speaking there is nothing great in this place but still if you have time in hand it is a perfect place to visit for 2-3 hours’ time span.

One of the best attraction in Jammu, the lake is wide spread and you can also do boat ride in the lake. There are restaurants nearby where you can have descent food.

The main attraction is the fishes in the lake which are almost 2/3rd outside water. You can feed them and really enjoy your trip...

Mansar Lake is around 60 KMs from Jammu City of Jammu and Kashmir state of India. Nestled in beautiful Hills surrounded by lush greenery the lake is full of fishes. It has been beautifully developed for the convenience of tourists. There are rooms for stay overlooking the lake which can be booked from the website of tourism Department of Jammu & Kashmir.
A lot of people visit this Lake for a day tour. There are public utilities and restaurants for the convenience of visitors. You can even buy wheat flour dough to feed the fishes from local street vendors. In fact throwing wheat flour dough chunks is a popular activity among visitors.

The Lake environmental ecosystem is very healthy and vibrant. This is a Lake is part of the Ramsar Convention site.

Road: while going to mansar lake covering surinsar lake -taken diversion from srinagar highway ( approx 65km from jammu). for last 15 km there was either no road washed away by rains or cracked and about to fall. dangerous drive.
while coming back we took another route to jammu- punjab highway, first 15 km were roadless again meant for heavy trucks only before touching the highway. afterwards it was great 4 lane drive.

Mansar lake : to be frank nothing great about this place, but you can make it enjoyable if you are with large family or friends. lot of garden area, lake view decks and nice food in dhabbas just outside the mansa lake.

Attractions: lake, fish feeding, peddle boating, zoo, small eatouts, temple, walking around the lake, bird watching

Best part: peddle boating- you are on your own peddling the boat. Min 2 and max 4 ppl can go on one boat. prices are very reasonable 100 for half an hour. full lake round can be done in 2 and half hour. while on boat at sunset, there is a very beautiful view on sun setting between two hills with final rays on water on lake ( not to be missed). Few pictures attached.

Its kind of good place for a day but not of much liking.... activities are very few. Needs some massive improvement. It was a detour while on the way to srinagar
