Lots of memorabilia about the late Collette : hundreds of letters and photos. This is mostly interesting for super fans. Also a 45 video about Collette’s life.

This has a lot of photos of Colette, but nothing outstanding. Go to her house in the town first and if you want fill in with this.

Musee Colette is in an old chateau and includes lots of photos. It provides a chronological overview of Colette's life and is definitely worth a visit. Great photos.

Never having heard of Colette, and only very basic French, it was with some trepidation that we were taken by our friends to this exhibition housed in a less then inspiring chateau.

The video presentation of her life gave an impression of a somewhat 'tortured' and less than happy lady who had nevertheless managed to write numerous books, act in numerous stage shows, and apparently inspire many people with the breadth of her talents.

The museum was definitely for the enthusiast, containing hundreds of pictures, drawings etc, as well as some of her original book drafts, although there was a fascinating collection of paper weights, and some interesting references to her daughter, her husbands and their various relationships.

However, virtually nothing in English and, apparently, no English
guidebook so a less then satisfying visit

The movie was interesting, the imaginary library a joke, Do not go to the tea room. They cannot even let you look at the menu and list of prices because they do not carry most of the items. They warm up some frozen entrees . Service is miserable.

As a life long fan of Colette I had always wanted to visit her home town, and the museum was the icing on the cake. Beautifully laid out, full of family photographs I knew only from books, Collette's furniture from the Palais Royal, all set in spacious rooms overlooking St Saveur. A very enjoyable experience.

Incredible visit to this finally restored house,
Louis our guide was top notch (very competent, caring and with a touch of humor) overall, a most pleasant visit.
There is such energy in this place because the garden is as atypical as its owner at the time.
To discover without hesitation.
We leave the visit wanting to reread all of Colette's books.
The store is also very well stocked. Very relevant books and objects.
A great success 😍
