After a rather long and slow drive down a very bumpy dirt road we reached Lara beach. The first thing you notice is just how peaceful it is, the water is beautiful and clean and the beach itself, though may not be the best beach I'm Cyprus, is still very nice. It's a beautiful experience and being able to educate our little one on the conservation of turtles just added to a wonderful experience, we watched the amazing sunset before setting back on the ling bumpy road. It's worth a visit if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle and arent afraid to venture off the beaten track.

It was the last beach visited by us in Paphos. The road is a little difficult if you go with a smal car but totally worth it. We've been there in July and there were not tourists at all. Just the sound of the waves, the sunset and the turtle nests. Really clean and warm water, with a long beach. We stayed to watch the sunset and weren't dissapointed.

We stopped at Lara Beach as part of a larger excursion. While it was much needed to stop there so we could jump into the sea and cool down after hiking, the beach itself is not something I would go out of the way for. It is known for the Turtle Conservation which is amazing as there are hundreds of turtle nests on the beach that are protected. The problem is people do not follow rules and use sunscreen (distracts the turtles smell when they are trying to swim back to their nests) and umbrellas (can smash eggs when going into the sand). Wish the rules were stricter! Nice to see if you are in the area but not worth going out of your way or spending too much time.

Unique experience.
You can only come here in a long dirt road.
Beautiful, sandy, natural beach with big waves. There are protected turtle nests all around the beach. One of the best beaches in Cyprus.

Great Sandy beach. Water crystal clear on a calm day and a flat shallow sandy bottom as supposed to pebbles or rocks like many of the beaches on the Akamas Peninsular. If it’s good enough for the turtles.......
NOTE: it’s totally fine to drive in a small 2wd car. I get sick of these people who panic and leave reviews saying you need a 4WD. You DONT! (Unless it was raining and therefore muddy which is v rare!) Just take it easy. It’s bumpy, so weave around and avoid any big potholes.
I’ve done this journey multiple times over 10 years (road condition always similar)

Great beach and also very doable with normal car. We had a super small 1.0 Kia picanto and even that worked out! Just go very slow. We saw around 15 normal (non 4x4) cars at the parking lot. Just be aware that you won’t see turtles during the day, they hatch at night.

Beach is located North of Coral Bay and is one of the few beaches known for turtle nesting. From May onwards Turtles lay there eggs on this beach which are then looked after by a dedicated team of conservationists.
Ill warn you the road to this beach isn't really a road and will take long than you think.

Depressingly awful. A beautiful beach but absolutely COVERED in plastic rubbish. From a car bumper to a sparkly rainbow of tiny plastic all along the tide like to literally hundreds of plastic bottles and everything in between. What a place for those rare turtles to end up 😢. Not worth the long trip along a dusty unmade road. So sad to see.

A beautiful place, but forgotten by God ... It is difficult to get here and you have to reckon with a completely dirty car, which resembles an off road ... However, this is what makes it beautiful ... admission here ... But the beach itself is nice.

Hello, What is the best month and time of day to see Turtles hatch in Lara Bay?
We are going first week of August - do you think we would get to see any hatchlings swimming to the sea?
Many thanks.
