We reserved a trip for 7: kayak to Captain Cook, snorkel, have lunch, explore. The night before I called to clarify meeting place. The Boss, rather confused, said, "Oh hey, yeah! I meant to call you -- we're overbooked. How about Friday?" When I said our group would be GONE on Friday, he said, "Oh wait! I didn't mean you... More

The boys and I were lucky enough to be the only ones going out that afternoon, so it ended up being a "private" tour. Makai was our guide and he was amazing. He was very friendly and personable. We were fortunate enough to spot a sea turtle where we launched from. While we kayaked out toward captain cooks monument, we... More

The four of us had a great time kayaking and snorkeling. We did the morning 3.5 hour tour. Our kids are 7 and 11, so this was perfect. We still had plenty of time to snorkel. This is the best snorkeling we have done on the Island. Our guide was great sharing local knowledge and patient with us and the... More

We did the Cook Monument kayak and snorkel with guides Makai and Steve. Makai gave us a short informative history and we headed out to the kayaks. For most of us it was our first time Kayaking on the ocean. Great experience and beautiful place to snorkel.

The Aloha Kayak Co. is one of the only permitted companies that are able to take kayakers to the Captain Cook monument and land so you can snorkel in one of the best spots on the island. Our two guides, Makai and Steve, were excellent. Makai gave a short talk on the history of Capt. Cook, which was very interesting... More

My day with Aloha Kayak was simply amazing. First we met our guides, Steve and Makai, who were both fun, welcoming, and nice people. Then Makai gave us a little historical overview about Captain Cook (the monument of Captain Cook is the destination of the trip), and it was so interesting! Also Makai made it so much fun with his... We booked a 3 hr morning kayak/snorkel tour with Aloha Kayak Company, who provided all the gear. The tour began with an information session by the owner about the history of Captain Cook and Big Island, which we found very informative. We had two guides who took us across the bay and both were very friendly, and ensured that guests... More

We had originally planned to simply rent kayaks, as we are experienced lake and river kayakers. This was our first time on the ocean, however, and we decided to go with a guide service. Steve and Aloha Kayaks Company provided a first rate experience! The orientation was helpful and informative. Steve was friendly and professional. We felt very secure under... More

After a quick, fun history lesson we kayaked across Kealakekua Bay. Snorkeling was fantastic - we saw so many different species of fish all in one place. On our way back across the bay we stopped to watch spinner dolphins frolic in the sea. AMAZING!!!!! Our guide, Steve, was the perfect mix of helpful, informative, and entertaining.
