This was a great way to get some exercise and experience one of the best snorkel spots on the island. The half-hour paddle across the bay was lovely, and the snorkeling spectacular. Even though many snorkel companies brought boatloads of people out to the Cook Memorial while we were there, the area is big enough to explore without feeling crowded.... More

Did the 3.5 morning Cook snorkel. Very casual trip, could be because it was just our party of 3 and we were capable. Friendly guides who were helpful with gear. Saw spinner dolphins during the kayak back and lots of fish during the snorkel. I agree with other reviews that there are a number of tour boats and groups along... More

We kayaked to the Cook monument with Jamal for what was the best snorkeling experience ever! It was an easy paddle across the bay in clear blue water. Then we snorkeled by the monument in the clearest water ever, with tons of fish. Jamal was a sweetheart and took great care of us.

My wife and I did the 5 hour kayak/snorkel tour. Aloha has two 3.5 hour trips, and the 5 hour. I would recommend the 5 hour. The bay, the kayaking, the snorkeling, and the monument are so beautiful, fun, and interesting that the extra time is well worth it. This is the most beautiful place that we have ever snorkeled.... This was our second kayaking and snorkeling excursion to Kealakekua Bay--our first with Aloha Kayak. This trip is so worth doing--so fun and a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian waters. Jamal and Nova were are guides. They were both knowledgeable and friendly. What most impressed me about them was their kindness to everyone, not just to those in... More

Kealakekua Bay is an incredible snorkeling site with really interesting rock formations, some beautiful coral and lots of pretty tropical fish (with a few eels and an octopus). The kayak portion of the trip was equally amazing, including a great interaction with a pod of spinner dolphins. Our guide, Jamal, was fantastic and provided a great introduction to the cultural... They emailed me today to cancel our kayak/snorkel trip. Luckily I checked my email on vacation today. No call. No problem with them cancelling due to a surf alert, safety first. But nothing on a refund. Emailed twice with no response because if you call you get a voice mail that is full. Don't think I would trust my families... More

We booked a snorkelling and kayak trip with Aloha Kayak through their website. The day started off a bit late as we waited for over an hour for the shop to open (the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) Luckily there was another family waiting who called and confirmed that our tour was in fact on for the... We thoroughly enjoyed our morning adventure.Bay was calm so water activities were wonderful. (Other reviewers had rough water -- better to go in the a.m.) We are 60 plus, so kayaking and snorkeling gave us plenty of exercise. We particularly enjoyed learning a bit of history of the bay. Girard was very patient, answered all our questions, and was always... More

I booked a Snorkel, Kayak, and Dolphin Experience in the Big Island's Kealakekua Bay thru TripAdvisor.com for March 10, 2017. We were staying in Hilo, Hawaii and had to drive 2 hours to reach this side of the island. We arrived early for the check in time at 12:15 like the email instructions stated at Aloha Kayak Company. The front... More
