We went as part of a wine tour. The tour guide Camille was very well prepared and did a good job. The audio visual information on the tour though very informative didn't really fit with the style of a winery. Though on a positive side, they gave us grapes to taste to tell the difference which was cool. However, we only got to taste two of their wines which was highly disappointing.

Dear LeviN_11, We thank you for your comment and are glad that you apreciated your visit with Camille. Regarding the tasting, if you came with a wine tour, it is true that the "package" is chosen in advance by the agency and can include only 2 wines. Do not hesitate to come again and test our "sommelier visit" or " gourmet tour", you should apreciate them !

We visited as a part of a full day wine tour throughout the left bank. The tour was a bit commercial (showing videos throughout the tour), but overall we did enjoy the educational aspect of it and we felt that the visualizations helped to understand the winemaking process (example: they show a video of winemaking on the tanks where you see a projection of the seeds and skin rising to the top, which helps to picture more of what they describe to you on the tour). We also got to taste grapes off the vine for both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which was a great experience. The Chateau also has a great gift shop (that is also reasonably priced) where you can buy wine as well as other souvenirs such as wine bottle openers or the side of wine crates which people commonly use as cheese plates. Overall, it was a good experience and educational and added value when combined with the other stops on our full day tour.

We have been on many wine tours in the past couple of years. The guide we had at Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron was so knowledgeable, personable and engaged that the tour stands out as one of our favorites. His name is Marc and he is from the USA but has spent quite a bit of time in France getting certified and working at internships, You can tell wine is his passion, and he was so informative and a great educator. The wines produced at the Chateau are excellent, particularly the Nero wines. We definitely would recommend this tour, especially with the five vintage tasting and the education that goes along with it.

If you ever visit Bordeaux and you love wine, Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron is a must! We opted for the tasting and picnic experience and it was the highlight to our trip in France. We were tasting different meats and cheeses along with amazing wine, basically in front of a castle. Doesn't get much better. Highly recommend. Matt was our guide for the day and explained details of the wine process very thoroughly. Thanks Matt for all your help. Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron should be your next destination hands down.

This was the most well thought out and planned wine tour I’ve ever taken. The information was both entertaining and instructive. The wine making process was explained using technology, taste and visual aids so that I not only understood it but I remember it. Excellent!

When you are visiting 3 or 4 wineries a day they can start to run together. Chateau Lamothe- Bergeron stands out for several reasons.

To start with, they have a fairy tale chateau (though the inside is simple and modern- it was derelict when they got it).

Of the dozen or so presentations on wine making that we say, theirs is one of the most interesting (and unusual) - you see many steps of the process that usually you are just told about.

The tasting room is in an old cellar with some modern touches: the wines are served on a light table, which allows you to really see the color of the wines.

Finally (and this is no small thing)- the wines are exceptionally good value.
