National trust members holidaying in Wales so thought we'd go here. We weren't disappointed. Very interesting and informative. The tour guide knew her history. The kids got to pan for gold and found quite a few bits. Good fun. Worth a visit if you're nearby.

We went with 10 and 8 year olds. Had a fantastic time both Roman and Victorian mines are well worth a tour. Really good value for money. Our guide, Karla was both knowledge and witty. Don't know why had not been before!

Enjoyed a visit as part of our National Trust membership- very informative tour round the mine with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Safety is clearly key here too with hard hats and lights provided for the tour. The site is a great piece of history...More

We were too late for tours, but Sandra (one of local staff) is a mine (pun intended) of information and joy to listen too.

No there is no need to pre book, if you have a large party it might be good to give them a call.
