Staying on St Martins, we made a special day-trip to St Mary’s on a day and times this was supposed to be open, even waiting for the next “o’clock” to see if anyone turned up to take a tour group, and searching hard for the...More

I’ve never been to a camera obscura before so we were glad to visit here on our brief trip to St Marys. It was very informative and both teenage children agreed that it was worth visiting and found it interesting and glad they went.

If you have an hour or so to spare in St Mary's you could do worse than a walk up the hill to the Camera Obscura at the top of Buzz Hill. It is not heavily signposted or advertised but a real gem. The owner...More

What fantastic views of St. Mary's and the surrounding islands. The fella was very informative and welcoming. £5 each and well worth it. Steep ladder type steps up and dark, but worth every penny. Hope to visit it again. Need to have a clear day...More

Andrew's restoration of the tower and re-purposing of it reflects his own passionate & quirky character. The perfect host for an all too uncommon attraction. The 360 perspective provided by the cameras design gives a unique view of St Mary's and serves as a perfect...More

We had a brilliant trip to this fascinating and quirky attraction. Wonderful to see the island from a completely different perspective. Well worth the walk up there and the very modest entry fee.

Our second visit to the camera obscura. We were fortunate to catch it on the first day it was open during 2018. We had been before in 2015. Still an amazing experience and so well presented with a most interesting commentary. I even recognised someone...More

We finally made it up to the Camera Obscura and were really glad we did. The views of the islands and Andrew's commentary made for a very enjoyable morning. Definitely worth a visit.
